| Heard an interview with him and loved hearing about his approach to music. He is humble and cool, I think. What I loved was how he says, when he listens to someone talk, he hears a melody. And he did it on the spot with the interviewer. She asked something like, do you hear a melody in what I'm saying. And he sang a little tune that really did match her words. It was way cool. Now I am listening to people this way too. Hearing their rhythm and ups and down notes in their speech. Hopefully I won't get too distracted to not also be hearing what they are saying. |

| That sounds very interesting. I write music, and will listen to what's musical in the way people speak. Have you come upon any conclusions yet? Could you direct me to find will.i.am.?

| This was the interview: Gayle King: Hip-Hop Singer Will.i.am The song he put together is that Obama speach. If you listen to it you can hear Obama's words and the corresponding melody line that Will.i.am created from it. YouTube - Yes We Can - Barack Obama Music Video People really do have their own way to speaking that is like little melody. Mostly I have been listening to the cadence of people more than a melody line. Also, "boring" people don't' seem to have much of a change in pitch (no melody) and the beats are pretty regular too - like no syncopation or pauses that are in a rhythm of some kind. |
