| Hey, friends. I'm trying to make a good list of sweet songs that I can compile and use to spend some good time with my GF. So, feel free to shoot away some good sweet songs! Try and refrain from posting heavy stuff, or depressing music... And if you could name songs that are not that well known/remembered today, cookies for you, since I want to surprise her! I'm looking more for the sweet, upbeat stuff that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy, ehe. Some of the stuff I got: Bon Jovi - I'll be there for you (this song has history Tom Petty - Free Falling Tom Petty - Square One Mazzy Star - Into Dust Cranberries - Linger Oasis - All Around the World Matchbox 20 - Unwell Bell X1 - Eve, the Apple of my Eye Joseph Arthur - Honey and the Moon Fray - How to Save a Life Death Cab for Cutie - Death of an Interior Decorator Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Semisonic - Secret Smile Sia - Numb Coldplay - Speed of Sound Elton John - Your Song Massive Attack - Teardrop The Killers - Read my Mind The Cure - Friday I'm in Love The Cure - Close to Me Thanks! |

| Oh, yeah, speaking of Peter Gabriel...sort of... "More Fool Me" by Genesis (sung by Phil Collins before anyone knew who he was) and "Afterglow" also by Genesis ....And I would search everywhere just to hear your call..... |

| Dancing Lessons, by Sinead O'Connor, is a sweet and upbeat song, but I'm not sure if it would fit into your playlist above. Try a Little Tenderness (This is Andrew Strong's version, for The Commitments). Everything, by Alanis Morissette. Brandy Alexander, by Feist. Eyes, by Rogue Wave. Cupid De Locke, by the Smashing Pumpkins. Also, Beautiful. Fidelity, by Regina Spektor. Let My Love Open the Door, by Pete Townshend. The Sweetest Thing, by U2. Fresh Feeling, by Eels. Fallen, by Lauren Wood. Better, by Tom Baxter (sweet, not upbeat, but not sad). Cry To Me, by Solomon Burke (not upbeat, but I think it's sweet ~ it's one of my favourites). | Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros is sung in Icelandic and is about puddle jumping but it's such a powerful song, I love it. Promise me and Holding on, both by Beverley Craven are fantastic. In fact all her songs are beautiful - I'm going gooey just remembering.... Others that remind me of 'special times' are Through the barricades by Spandau Ballet, Don't wanna lose you by Gloria Estefan and Power of Love by Frankie goes to Hollywood

Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer Dance Me to the End of Love - Madeleine Peyroux (cover of a Leonard Cohen tune. sigh.) Singin' in the Rain - the inimitable Gene Kelly Wonderful! Wonderful! - Johnny Mathis A little over the top, but hey... Sugar Magnolia - Grateful Dead - not so explicitly a love song, but it makes me happy (could be my history with it... ) Your Smiling Face - James Taylor |
