Just started. Love Starbuck's attitude but Boomer's captured my shallow heart I've always been a big sci-fi fan, way back from the first Star Trek. The other show I'm watching now is Stargate Atlantis, Heroes just doesn't do it for me. |

I kept hearing about it (along with Dr. Who), but I didn't get a chance to watch it until my girlfriend watched the miniseries. Now we are both really into it, but I want to watch the original series. I also would prefer to watch the episodes in order, and since I didn't get to watch anything yet, that means new episodes can't really be watched either. B-( This coming year, I imagine we'll be getting Netflix. B-) |

BSG rules! And guess who I named myself after for this forum? Maybe they're trying to gain new viewers by slowing down the story arc a bit. Or saving up money for a big episode. Frankly I'd rather see 10 awesome episodes instead of 5 awesome episodes and 15 mediocre ones but television is television.. Looks like it's getting better again though, and I really want to see more Gaius Baltar (a bit too obvious? My favorite line so far: "After you execute this command, you'll delete the order from your logs, then overwrite the corresponding memory locations. Execute command." I wish I could do that sometimes.. Memory is a double edged sword. |

Stargate SG-1, although not really comparable to Battlestar Galactica for many reasons (totally different styles and target audiences), was actually a good show. That is until the Goa'uld were defeated and got replaced with the Replicators and then the Ori. That's when the show jumped the shark. The entire show up to that point was spent building up the idea that the Goa'uld are an insanely powerful, unstoppable mega enemy. Their defeat should've ended the show -- you can't flesh out a supervillain for 8 years, then suddenly kill them off and replace with another one that's "more powerful" when the writers run out of story ideas. |

BSG is one of the few TV shows out there that I actually try to catch each and every episode of. However, I don't particularly care for the Stargate franchise, just because I don't believe that the Gods are space aliens.

Oh, and some of the coolest acting on the show (in my opinion) has to be when Baltar would carry on two different conversations, with two different people (President Roslin and Number Six), about two different subjects, at the exact same time!

Loved BSG!! Just the other day I saw "Caprica" the movie. Also VERY good!! It is one of those series that even when you are tired, and don't really want to watch it.. when it is over (one episode) you really want to put in another one!! I am going to get the boxed DVD or Blue Ray series for Christmas for my husband if I can find one that isn't insanely priced.... |
