Default Just watched an excellent movie

Called Waking Life
I am a big fan of movies and books that make me think or feel. This movie got me thinking in so many different ways. The animation and film delivery itself was fantastic, unique and shows film making as a true art.

Watching this in bed over 2 sessions means I will have to watch this again to capture it all!

Baraka is another fun one, though this one is free of speech, just pictures and music. Youtube has the whole thing in parts, and the quality isn't much worse than when I saw it on dvd:

Ahhh... yes, Waking Life. What a beautiful and inspiring movie. Truly, one of a kind.

I have watched it countless times.... probably around 5 or 6 times and it's a movie that I get an urge to watch at least once a year. I've been getting that itch again just recently, as a matter of fact.

Every time I've watched it, I've walked away with something different. I think it's a movie that everybody should see at some point in their lives because it can change they way you look at things for the better. It's impossible to get everything out of this movie in one squeeze.

If anybody has suggestions for other movies similar to Waking Life in any way, please suggest them. Unfortunately, What The Bleep? wasn't exactly my cup of tea and that's the one I've seen people recommend the most. I'll look into Baraka.

WOW!!! I just watched all 10 parts, that was AMAZING. I had tears streaming down my face during a few parts. Life and the world is so beautiful yet we have so much bad stuff, that is not how it was meant to be. Are humans really destined to live like this?

The audio of that clip sounds very intriguing, but the visuals give me a head ache! There must be an audio-only version of the whole thing somewhere...

I need to watch these movies, as well as to see/read "Conversations with God." So far, ones I've seen and highly recommend--even if you end up disagreeing with their points--are "What the Bleep Do We Know?," "MindWalk," and "My Dinner With Andre."

Other good ones that contain some philosophical points to consider are "The Matrix" (at least the original--MAYBE the sequels), "Fight Club," "Naked Lunch," "Good Will Hunting," "eXistenZ," and "Instinct."

Fight Club was great... the book was even better than the movie (no big surprise), and made quite a bit more sense overall.
