Default This is one of the more amazing things I've seen

This is one of the more amazing things I've seen. I knew Elephants are smart and all, but I'm not quite sure what to even make of this.

I'm especially blown away that the final figure is in motion when painted, with two legs flat and two lifted. That seems to display a level of skill far beyond what I would have thought was possible.

Right. One does have to wonder if this was natural talent or learned skill. The video does not show if the elephant loaded his own brushes with paint or was handed them already prepared..

I was impressed by the precision. As he continued from one section to another and connected his lines right where he was supposed to.

I think it is a learned skill (much as other animals are trained). Elephants don't write or paint (for a lack of paintbrushes, colors etc.), usually. ;-)

As for the authenticity: You don't see the whole elephant all the time (especially during the more intricate strokes), so I'm not entirely sure it's authentic (I've come to see that things on YouTube are best taken with a spoon, if not a packet of salt..).

I'm just wondering if the elephant was mimicking human behavior, or if he was just going through the motions. In other words, did he actually know what he was doing?

Did you see the guy walking by with all the other paintings? I wonder if other elephants made them or this guy or some person...

They have bigger brains than we do. Just not the natural coordination. I don't wonder if it's real.

There is a dude on youtube who trained goldfish to swim in formation and do swimming tricks.

Bout time we stopped thinking we are so special.
