Default Things That Make You Smile

Some stuff, no matter how harsh or uptight I try to be, makes me smile. Can't help it.

Ever see someone point at themselves with both thumbs and look all excited with small news? This ALWAYS makes me smile and 99% of the time will get a laugh.

I love it. "Guess who just got a front row parking space at the mall? THIS GUY!" Slamhot said as he pointed at himself with both thumbs.

This puppy, from Japan, named Heart-kun, also makes me smile. If you look at this puppy and don't smile, you're waaaaay tougher than I am:

For me, it's interspecies love. I don't know why (maybe because Danger Man sometimes seems to be an entirely different species from me)... it always makes me smile.

I know. There's a bunch of photos of mama tiger with the little piglets jumping and playing all over her -- google tiger piglets -- way too cute. There's one where the tiger has her mouth on one of the piglets, and the caption says they're just playing. I'm going to choose to believe that.

Doesn't that just make you all schmoopy? Don't you wish you could bottle that feeling and sprinkle it around when you're dealing with some lunkhead?

I hadn't seen the one on bottom right, and it's the cutest one. Thanks.

A friend and I once agreed when you were down, there needed to be a delivery service that would bring you a basket full of sleepy puppies for an hour when you were depressed!

But yes, this feeling should be bottled for lunkhead moments. Fortunately, there are more tiger-pigs in the world than lunkheads.

I would like to have a zwergpinscher (for a pet, not lunch) -- sometimes they're called "miniature dobermans" but they're not. Is this not an elegant, beautiful beast? I want to have a LLTMBDR.

OOOOH! Minpins!

My favorite dog is the Mastiff!

I had dogs larger than me as a teenager, and there's something very special about developing a bond and respect and trust with an animal that is larger.

Yeah, I love big dogs, too -- especially Great Danes. They're so misunderstood, like Frankenstein. But the little Z-dog is perfect for me and my OCD -- in fact, they look like they've got OCD, too.

I grew up with Great Danes! But Mastiffs are raw, beautiful, powerful animals!

And Z-dogs do look OCD-filled. Heh. Cute.

My dear brother has this little hyper mess of a dog named Odie. When you enter the house, you cannot speak, or she pees. Slamhot and I discussed this to a great extent before going to Vegas.

Odie had a vendetta against him. He was ALWAYS the first to speak, and it wasn't excited or high pitched. It would be, "I'm going to grab something out of the bedroom." Odie would follow this up with the same response... Pssssssss. Oh well. Made me laugh. Next year we're visiting his family, who are not dog people.

Not to copy on all the dog stuff... lol.

But, seriously, my dog always makes me smile. Actually, he makes me flat out belly-laugh several times a day.

His name is Spanky Dean.

OMG! When I was a little girl, I always wanted a pug! Spanky Dean rules!!!

Smiling now.

There's a little autistic boy who lives next door and he was saying Slamhot's name over and over earlier.

Slamhot goes, "Aw, you know my name!"

The kid's mom said, "No, that's HIS name, too."

Slamhot: "Oooooh, he's like a human Pokemon." (Wasn't trying to be mean.)

I excused myself, went in the bathroom, and howled for several minutes.
