I'd rate Miyazaki's (Studio Ghibli) movies in this order:

1) Laputa (Castle in the sky)
2) Spirited away
3) Princess Mononoke
4) Howl's moving castle
5) The cat returns
6) My neighbour Totoro
7) Nausicaä (of the valley of the wind)
8) Porco Rosso
9) Grave of the fireflies
10) Kiki's delivery service

For those who are still in the dark and wonder what to start with.

So, if I only have time to watch one, which is the one anime of SG that is a MUST-WATCH?
DS, I would suggest Spirited Away, I think once you watch this movie you will want to watch anything by Studio Ghibli out of fascination and love for the amount of work they put into details of the animation. We had a copy of Kiki’s Delivery Service in my house for several years and I never watched it, did not know what it was until I watched Spirited Away. I only ask that you watch at least four other SG movies before you watch Grave of the Fireflies (which is a beautiful, beautiful piece.)

Not to endorse the Oscars in anyway, but Spirited Away did win the best animation award in 2003.

Cheers,
Tabs

Haha Kloudiia, if Chinese sub-titles isn't a problem, I can lend you some of the classic Studio Ghibli movies, just drop me a message
