Default What to do with my free time in life?!?!?

Hi Everyone.

I feel that I have mastered a lot of different areas in my life.

I'm in a career that I couldn't imagine wanting to do anything els! (wich I am very very grateful of!) My fitness and eating habbits is up to par. I've given up TV. My spiritual development is increasing momentum. I have a descent understanding of money. I have good self discipline.

One area of my life that I have not yet mastered is Fun and Recreation!

The problem is I'm not quite sure what to do with my free time? I'm in my 20's and I'm not tied down to anyone or anything. I feel as if I'm on the right track with everything els in my life except this.

Basically I am trying the fire ready aim solution Steve talks about

I started to play video games (xbox 360) and that doesn't seem too fufilling.

I'm looking for the most fufilling thing I could possibly do with my free time that's not tied up with any other aspect of my life

Coaching a sport
Volunteering
adventure

Can you guys brainstorm some ideas for things I could do with spare time (fun and adventure)? I could just sleep and laze around all day but that's not fufilling lol

It's a big world out there! be creative anything goes! What are some things you guys do?!?!?!?

Pick up the book, "The Joy of Not Working." It's about really savoring your leisure. I think it might inspire you -- it did me!

Agreed. No better recreation than that. Maybe it's time to start working on those pick-up skills?

Go out to some dance classes. Swing, or Lindy is a fun social dance. Meet your girlfriend there.

Heh, you could always make a list of things you want to do and when you have free time, work towards them! For example, one of my things I want to do is take a ride in a hot air balloon. Or if you want something that's more "this can actually take up my free time", learn a music instrument, register for a dance class or two, read a good book on a subject you like, watch a TV show, meditate, journal, develop a new skill that you can make money from once you're good at it... you could do almost anything.

Great idea Adrian.

There is so much you can do out there, I think making a list and start there would be a good start.

I did play guitar for awhile but got bored... But listening to music I find is very peaceful and relaxing.

This is the weakest area of my life and It's a fun area of life to improve on too!

As far as the relationship idea goes that's great idea too. I just ended a 1 month relationship and I'm looking to go out have fun and meet new people again. I will be moving in a few months for work so things will be changing.

Talking Dude!!

What a great problem to have!!

Hmm.. you're young, you wanna have fun, you have nothing to hold you back... dude - have you seen Italy? Morrocco? Hawaii? Go do it!

I went w/ a group of 20 ppl that I didn't even know to Australia and New Zealand for a month, and it was one of the best times of my life! We made new friendships, met ppl all around the world who were just as ambitious, sight saw the great barrier reef, tours, hostels, parties you NAME IT. And if you go through a university around your area, you can get grants so you don't have to pay very much (even if you're NOT a student there!) Check into it!

Another thing you can think about if you want to travel 90% off for life, whenever and wherever you wanna go, do this:

This is what I do. I make money. I don't have to work for anyone else anymore. I have freedom...FUN... Dude, I just live life! If you have so much free time, look at this w/ an open mind. Research it. Help others achieve wealth and happiness.. and you receive the same in return. It's so truly rewarding that's what I live for!
Have fun!!

Volunteering is a good use of time. You have an opportunity to help people around you, that is something that I know motivates me.

There are many different types of volunteering, some of which I'm sure you would like.

Just ones I can think of on the top of my mind...

* Join a local non profit club
* Volunteer at the hospital
* Help out at the soup kitchen
* Help collect clothing/food for the homeless
* Participate in awareness campaigns to let people know about issues in their communities
*Join a Search and Rescue team (I'm part of one myself... it certainly has the fun and excitement you want... it's truly amazing and you get to work with all types of people)

I'm sure you can find something that suits your needs and interests.
