Default More (new song)

I've posted a new song called 'More' in my sellaband profile. Check it out if you have some time!

I'm really happy how this one turned out, because it was one of those songs that I could never seem to finish and then when I finally finished it, I had the hardest time working out a demo that sounded right. After scrapping at least a dozen different versions over the course of the past year, I sat down yesterday in my little studio and the whole thing just rolled out of me. I just love it when that happens!

I'm really proud of the lyrics too:

You don't have to be an astronaut and reach for the stars
You don't have to be the first guy who finds life on mars
If you feel that outerspace is to risky for you
It's clearly not what you should do with your life

You don't have to live on the edge of a knife
But reach out a little bit further
Why are you holding back when you've got so much more

It's alright if you're not the best dancer in the world
And it's ok if you can't move to save your life
If you feel that the groove doesn't groove with you
That's clearly not what you should do with your life

You don't have to live on the edge of a knife
But reach out a little bit further
Why are you holding back when you've got so much more

You can be the star of your very own fairy tale
And you can be just who you are in your dream

You don't have to live on the edge of a knife
But reach out a little bit further
Why are you holding back when you've got so much more

Jim.

Jim, that's a very beautiful song! But one thing bugs me: these tiny, very high sounds in the background. They HURT!!! seriously. (no, it's not my balance... )

Sorry about that! I stuck them very deep in the mix, precisely to avoid that (and still have the 'we're in space' feel). I'll see if I can soften them up a little...

In the meantime, don't play the song so loud!

I tried, but it doesn't depend on how loud I play the song. It's the frequency I guess. It just hurts, even when it's barely audible. But that's just me I guess. Can I have a version without these sounds just for me?

Cool Jim. I especially liked your other song "high", which is a little closer to my own taste.
