Default one thing you love about where you live ...

One thing I love about where I live is that everyone holds doors for everyone else, regardless of age, gender, race, dress, or any other distinguishing factor, and in the process most everyone smiles and thanks the door holder. It's a simple thing that makes the area feel so much closer, even as thousands of people stream by.

Default What I love about where I live

Holding a door open for someone else can be a very caring gesture. What I love about where I live is that I notice how people care about the beach. People will pick up litter especially any plastic if it has washed up on the shore.

What I love where I live is that we have a lot of good public transportation that's affordable and effective. It always gets me everyware. It's better to fill a bus with people then to fill 50 cars with 1 man in each car.

Nice that people care so much about the beach where you live eblight, the beach is a relaxing place, and it's very warm hearthed that they keep it that way.

Openeyes, I think this is a Southern thing That's what I love about where I live, that it's the South, from the beautiful beaches to the mountains tinted smoky blue, full of gardenias and magnolias in the summer and winter days warm enough to picnic, and when that full Carolina moon shines through the pine trees on a hot summer night, I just KNOW I'm in the right place

Man! You are making me jealous!

I love the blazing colors of the trees here in Autumn and the sparkly, crispness of a winter night after it's first snowed. I love the way that the tulips and lilacs come back for another try year after year, and the smell of fresh cut grass in the summer. New Englanders are not notoriously friendly though. Sometimes when I'm out walking, I'll say hello to five or six people before I get a hello back.

That made me laugh, because my particular town has turned into a mecca for retirees from the northeast and former northeasterners who had previously retired to Florida and are now fleeing from hurricanes. As a result my little southern town suddenly has a huge Yankee population these days. You can spot them a mile away in a huge crowd because they always look so unhappy and so unfriendly, angry even! It takes a bit of getting used to.........

I couldn't wait to post when I saw this thread and I thought "Wow, her town sounds like mine!" Well, duh, I'm in Cary. No wonder!

The other thing I like about my town is that graffiti is almost unknown.

And at the movies, almost everyone carries out their own garbage, unlike when I lived in Connecticut, it was like it was a Constitutional right to leave your trash for the poor ushers to clean up.

Cary is very tidy. That's a real treat compared to living in the Northeast.

I could go on and on but I noticed you only wanted ONE thing and I already broke the rules.

Just one thing? Damn...

Well, I suppose if I were forced to pick I'd go with the huge variety of easily accessible, affordable, top-notch foreign cuisine, and the culture that goes along with it.

My answer is simple:

The spaciousness.

If that term doesn't mean much to you, go find a quite area in nature that is devoid of people and man-made objects and take a moment to just stand there quietly. "Listen" with your whole being, not just your individual sensory perceptions. Then you'll know what it is I speak of.

What i love about the place i live in is the weather, it has all sorts of climates so we never get bored about it. We have very cold winters and very hot summers. Also women here are very beautiful, they have the brazilian bronze skin yet are from european descendancy (mostly italian and german); a great mix.

Another thing i love about my city is the city team here.

It's also a very clean city and beautiful city.

The only thing i miss is that we have no good beach nearby.

One thing? I met the man, the only person who in 22 years, who could get me to stop asking "why" in this city.

Was that "why does this place suck?" or some other negative kind of why? ...otherwise I'm lost as to how that's a thing to love!

^^ I used to ask "why" to everything. Why does he love me? Why does anything happen for any reason? Why is this hard? Why is this easy? Why is the sky blue? Why, why, why! The first time he said, "I love you," I followed up with, "I love you, too... Now why do you love me?" Doubt, doubt, doubt. And I know even that when when our relationship HERE ends through whatever means, because at the very least, I will likely outlive him, that he's given me the ability to accept things exactly as they are, and rather than question it to death, look at what I can do to change that, and I can pinpoint that on a MAP. How can I not hold some special place in my heart for the setting of that?

With no clues to gender, I assume female. Just my thing. You could try signing your name.

Hello, Sorry if this is the wrong place to post for the first time. But it's the most comfortable thread I have found. It's hard to sum up what I love about where I live, so I thought pictures would work best accompanied by 4 words... Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall (or autumn for those who prefer. lol)

Please excuse photo quality... they were taken on my cell phone. The first one was taken this morning!
