Maybe not the most beautiful, but I love the way the word lederhosen rolls around in your mouth. Say it. Out loud (so you get the benefit of the voiced phonemes). And concentrate on the way your mouth and tongue move as the word makes a circut around your mouth.

The actual concept of wearing lederhosen is a little bit... erm... not my style.

It is said that the most beautiful word would be their own name.

I dunno if I have a favorite. Never really thought about it.

Love maybe.

In Germany there was actually a contest for the most beautiful word. It turned out to be "Habseligkeiten" (=belongings). If you want to know more, see this site (in English):

"ma"

(ok, nobody try any psycho-analysis on me please. it's just the first word that usually comes out a baby's mouth and represents the only thing it knows - an unconditionally loving mother)

I english I like "preposterous". You nearly don´t need a translation, because if you say it loud everything is already in the sound. I also like "bunk" very much, in the sense of "this theory of yours is bunk". It´s such a cute word to throw in someones face.

I think us non-native english speakers like different words than native english speakers. In german I most of the words I like very much are in "pott" - the slang of the ruhr area which can be very funny, almost like a comedian invented his own language. Just take "Zappelbunker" - "Fidget Bunker" for disco. That´s entertainment.

Love the meaning, sounds, and feeling of this word--

hyp·no·pom·pic (hĭp'nə-pŏm'pĭk) pronunciation
adj. -- Of or relating to the partially conscious state that precedes complete awakening from sleep.

Sensual for its lovely feel as it rolls off the tongue. I love how the word feels and sounds like its meaning. Or maybe it's just the way that I'm saying it...

Some other words are beautiful because of the memories they're associated with. The words remind me of the happy/fun circumstances in which, and with whom, they were first or recently uttered.

Trabajabamos

We were working

I love this word because of the way it sounds, and its translation into english (from spanish) is an alliteration.

Juggernaut.

From the very first time I heard it, I always liked it.

Probably not the sort of word you would use every day though.
