Found a reference to a series of silly laws on the BBC website which gave me a chuckle: The UK's top 10 most ridiculous British laws were listed as:

| Reminds me of a story I heard recently. Apparently there was a study done by some arm of the National Transportation Agency to determine what happens immediately prior to a traffic accident. What they did was put voice recorders in a few thousand vehicles all over the US, then would retrieve the voice recorders from those vehicles that were in an accident. It was sort of like that black box that's in aircraft that investigators retrieve after a crash. According to the study, the most common last words immediately before an accident were, "Oh, ♥♥♥♥♥." The exception was Alabama, where the last words just before a smash-up were, "Hold my beer, I wanna try something." |

AC, I lived in Texas for five years and while I agree it's not really a part of "The South," I comforted myself by knowing I had not crossed the Mason/Dixon Line I LOVE Texas! It should be a country all its own!! When we lived in Texas in the early '80s there was no law against having an open container of alcohol in your vehicle while driving, as long as you weren't legally intoxicated. I think that law has since been taken off the books. Last edited by Ree; 11-06-2007 at 11:55 PM. Reason: To attempt to stay on topic:) |

Yeah, it's illegal now! Texas is completely awesome. I don't know what it is, but we here in good ol' Tejas are pretty stuck on our state. Maybe it's the neat shape? I am going to look for some more funky laws. I can only imagine some of the crazy ones we have here. |

I have also find some silly laws of different states. These laws are. 1. Dogs may not bark after 6pm. 2. No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour. 3. It is unlawful to walk backwards after sunset. 4. It is considered an offense to shower naked. You can also find some more silly laws from here. 50 Stupid Laws From 50 States |
