 baby shower cake and cupcakes I made cupcakes 009 new size on Flickr - Photo Sharing! This is my own version of an Awh Caramel from Vachon.... I tried to replicate it into a cake ...... not sure if I suceeded but it all got eaten !!      |

| Hi, The cupcake icing is a cooked Italian buttercreme, where you cook a simple syrup to soft boil stage , then pour it into whipped egg whites, then you slowly add butter and beat... The cake icing is your standard bakery buttercreme, where you use shortening, heavy creme and tons of icing.... I then color it using Wilton paste/jells you only need a drop on the end of a toothpick to get a nice color if ever you want any recipies let me know maybe i have some that you might like |

| I think we should have an Old Soul/NotesMaeve cake-off! I'll host it, supply all the stuff, the oven, the space and all the rest. Just let me know what ingredients you'll need. Then the members of this here board can all descend upon the cakes like a plague of locusts and we'll determine a winner. |

| I'd LOVE some recipes! And my cakes are very dadaistic and less crafted than OS.  I envy people who can make a traditionally lovely cake.

| Quite inspiring Old Soul! I have always loved to bake, but have given up on it lately since time is always so tight (as well as the waistband on my pants!), but I think I shall get back to the oven! Thanks! |
