This idea came from the thread about what we've learned from Steve, but I'd had it in my head for some time. Is there someone on here you didn't care for at first, but grew on you? I'll tell you mine: Angela. I used to roll my eyes at things she'd post. "Ugh, typical 'tough chick' stuff," I'd think. As I grew as a person, I realized Angela and I share a lot of the same qualities and she has some I'd love to have for myself: Terrific wit and dry sense of humor, enormous intellect, genuinely IS tough (but also very loving and gentle), and the sort of coolness I could only hope to implement with a false eye patch. So come on. Who's grown on you and made you grow as a person? Someone on here made you seen the humor in life, made you wiser? Tell! ETA: Don't feel bad if you're not mentioned. That just means you're likable from the get go. |

I'm just now getting where I stop myself thinking "what an idiot" about some posts. (and learning to ponder what my knee-jerk reaction says about/to me.)

I don't think this forum gets as many visitors as the others, so that might be why there aren't more responses. And I'm not responding because no-one fits the criteria. ...but if it were a list of who I've learned to love, not just because I hated them and then realised they had a lot of good in them, but because an initial impression was shown to be accurate, or a non-impression turned good, well... The list would be long PS: Funny that you should think of someone else as a 'tough girl', Maevey. That would be one of those shared qualities, yes? |

I don't know too much about her in terms of what she looks like, where she's from or whatever but I would still like to call her a friend.

Well, I'm sure there are a few people who are rolling their eyes at the "we all love Angela", Aspiring, but maybe they just don't realize they love me yet! * I love all of you folks, too, with my whole heart. It's funny how deeply you can feel about people without actually meeting them in person, isn't it? It makes me feel so connected. Sometimes I read what you are all saying, and it makes my heart grow two sizes to know that although you are in Texas or Moscow or the Netherlands or Germany or India or the U.K. or where ever -- we are all together. *zippideedoodah! |

I am always impressed with the people willing to open their hearts online. I think in some ways, a consequence free environment is really good for seeing what people are like, although some of the best experiences I've had is meeting online friends. Aww. Group hug back at you!

| Yes I know. I meant it seriously. Never seen the movie, but recently I went to rent a DVD at the video store, and there was a real size Lara Croft figure standing there near the door, and I told her "hey Angela, what are you doing here..." |
