Angela will become famous soon enough
Default Poetry experts, please help

I am searching for a poem written by someone from the Beat era, but I can't remember who. I was thinking it was Gary Snyder, Charles Olson, one of those New American Poetry guys (I'm sure it was a male poet) and here are scraps of what I can remember of it:

I wish the mandragora grew wild, screaming
and in the cattails, pussywillows, etc.
wind soft as eastern standard time
wind soft as a soft wind

My internet searches have come to nought. Anybody know?

It's possible that my memory is fogged by the chemicals I was ingesting during that period, but I'm pretty sure I didn't write that poem. Someone else must have, and I'd sure like to remember who it was.

Wait a sec -- you meant to post in that other thread, right? I'm having a flashback.

Are you referring to the Gordon Lightfood song, Pu55y Willows, Cat-Tails?

No, but it's got some of the same elements! Thanks, but this was definitely a poem as opposed to a song, and it definitely had the phrase "wind soft as eastern standard time" in it.

Here you go my dear - you should've thought with the Lola side of your brain!

Quote:
Blue Funk

I wish all the
mandragora grew
wild, screaming.

And in the cattails,
pussywillows, etc.
wind soft as
eastern standard time.

Wind soft as the
last time you
did it. Wind soft
as a soft wind.

I wish we
bathed in the essence of
ginseng, for our health.

I wish eastern standard
time, etc. rang the
changes in our hearts.

Nope - not twins - we are the very same person. The. Very. Same.

Lola, Lola, Lola.

Of course it would be you who found this for me. Thank you so much!

I can't believe I forgot that line:

"wind soft as the
last time you
did it."

Thanks again.
