| After reading all the books in the Harry Potter series, I never picked up on this... J.K. Rowling Outs Hogwarts Character - AOL News |

| Rowling just earned a little of my respect.

| I’m okay with it, just a bit surprised. I have always thought of Dumbledore as asexual, like the Professor on Gilligan’s Island. I do note that Dumbledore admonishes Harry not to be too judgmental (in regards to Snape, Voldemort’s mother, etc.). This paragraph in book six should have been a dead giveaway Half-Blood Prince, page 263 (New York: Arthur A. Levine Books /Scholastic Inc.) The young Albus Dumbledore’s long hair and beard were auburn. Having reached their side of the street, he strode off along the pavement, drawing many curious glances due to the flamboyantly cut suit of plum velvet that he was wearing. Vestis virum reddit = The clothes make the man. I assumed it was a wizard thing ___ |

Yes. It couldn't be that the character's sexual orientation had an effect on his world view and Rowling felt that was important to correct and preserve. I mean, this book IS her legacy; she must just be saying that for attention! Look, for years I've thought Rowling's books were way overrated, that she was kind of a bitch, etc., but I am sure this means something to her. Cut her a break.

| Good writers tend to have huge back stories on their characters. This makes it easier when forming their personalities and making them more three dimensional. Sounds like JKR did think of Dumbledore as gay judging from all the flamboyant descriptions. |

| I mean, older men can be sexy, but daaaaaaaamn.

| I'm partial to Cho, personally. ![]() As for Dumbledore, I completely agree with Jennihul's statement above: Quote:
