| I'm not sure why, but I have allways enjoyed humor and parody in music. Just a few minutes ago, the radio station in my office was playing 'I think we're alone now', and all I could think of was Weird Al Yankovic's version: 'I think I'm a clone now'. I guess that's why I listen to such oddballs as Weird Al, Ray Stevens and the The Capitol Steps. To me, the jib-jab animated cartoon 'This Land' was a perfect description of the 2004 election, and in many ways the sad state of American politics, but at least I could laugh at the video. |

| Some artists that are supposed to be great often have their sense of humour. The Beatles did it over and over. "Yellow Submarine", "You know my name (look up the number)"... Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" is pretty hilarious (besides a masterpiece)... they laughed after recording those opera chorus... Mozart gets very funny with his "Divertimentos" like the first movement of Eine Kleine Nachtmusic (A masterpiece anyway). It looks like it's possible to do a funny masterpiece |
