Tuumble is on a distinguished road
Default Bronchial Sandwich

http://bronchialsandwich.wordpress.com/

I've created a Blog which is designed to amuse, get people thinking and to increase their vocab.

The title Bronchial Sandwich is key. What I want people to do is come up with the most bizarre combination of two words. Words that you wouldn’t dream of putting together.

The inspiration for this is my other blog Crusty Nomad. Below is the text lifted from the About page of that site to explain how the idea came about…

Quote:
‘What does Crusty Nomad actually mean?’

The term Crusty Nomad was a couplet of words that I picked designed to be memorable. As you don’t hear the two terms together it acts as a neuro-jolt which means it’s more likely to be remembered than some other bland expression used a thousand times before.

Crusty Nomad is in fact the type of term you would expect to see Googlewhacked. Googlewhacking is a game whereby you take two unrelated words and insert them (without speech marks and the like) into Google search to see if you can find just one search result.

Some old examples include: semiglossy proletariat, erotomaniacal pimpmobile, logocentric celebrityhood, megabladder tadpole and skimboarding housecats.

Remember that all these examples were ‘out there’ and actually yielded a single search result. However, the moment it gets added to the list it no longer becomes a Googlewhack as it has been mentioned twice.

Follow the link above to see what it’s all about. It’s fun to try but virtually impossible to achieve these days after the expansion of the web.
Why not have a go now at creating your own Brochial Sandwich and posting your answers in the comments below each post in the blog.

Periodically I’ll compile a ‘Best of…’ list for all to see.

Just to recap…

A Bronchial Sandwich is just two words you wouldn’t dream of putting together. It is not Googlewhacking where you do a web search as described above but the combination of two words to make an extraordinary phrase.

Until next time I’d like you to enjoy your:

Effluent Verbosity

One final thing. I would like to experiment to see how viral this sort of site could be. I reckon I could pretty easily get a 100 hits a day inside a week and a 500 hits a day by the end of October.

Anyone willing to give it a try to see if we can meet those targets?

hmmm... I'm currently enjoying word combinations that go together perfectly but I'm seeing together for the first time, mostly because I'm reading "Death in Venice." I just can't stop saying "fetid effluvia"!
