We've all experienced times like standing in line, stuck in traffic, etc. where time just draaaaaags; on the other hand, we've experienced fun and good times that seem to go by way too quickly. Does anyone here know of any methods to consciously slow down time when you're having a blast? |

Yeah, I was totally wondering the same thing awhile back. But when you realize that time is subjective, you can do things with it you could never do before. Time is a human creation. If you "get off the clock" more and don't pay so much attention to it and realize how much time you actually have. Just become more present in the times you are having fun and just enjoy them fully. Don't keep looking to when that time will be over. Just enjoy it now.

I don't know how to slow down time when you have fun. but in times you are standing in line, or stuck in traffic, time draaaaags because you have impatient thoughts. you want to be in the future faster... From my experience, when I try to stay fully present in the now, just listening to what's happening around me at this very moment, then time will pass much faster (because I'm having fun, I guess |

Stop the fun and get bored. When you're bored like when you're working it doesn't help much too take a look at the clock many times. It seems even longer.... So I guess if you take some looks at the clock while you're having fun, it will seem longer too, or maybe shorter, I don't know. I think when your energy is high (like fun) E=mc2 reminds us... times for you pass quickly. E=m*c*c E=mass*(30000km/1sec)*(300000km/1sec) If increase energy... it's because your "C" is changing (or the other way round), not your mass, your Speed through time, seconds are shorter. Erin said in a post a guide of her said to her "You're accelerating".... I guess that meant she's increasing her good energy... I think looking at the clock would stop the fun and and the speed of your time. Last edited by songwriter; 09-25-2007 at 02:45 AM. |

Also you could REframe many experiences, in a more positive Light, and enjoy positive states in them. - For instance, why do people think they are stuck? in traffic: Wow! what a FUN | |

Sometimes fun can make for very dilated time. I know the first 5 minutes when I step onto a soccer field seems way longer than the first 5 minutes driving there, for instance. What I think really makes time go by quickly is the progression towards a goal. You can jump many hurdles, but if you focus on crossing the finish line as the main event, the time will seem compressed because your mind interprets this big goal as the same kind of thing as the many little goals you encounter throughout your day. Just a guess. I just read something pretty relevant in the book Moonwalking with Einstein. Some guy spent a month in a cave doing nothing for 2 months, cut off from all stimulation. I forget exactly why, but it was for some kind of experiment. But when his team pulled him out after 2 months, they asked him how long he thought he had been in there, and he guessed only 1 month. Effectively, he lost half of his time. So variety of life experiences -- or varieties of fun, would definitely seem to stretch out your subjective time. |

Just imagine your a sub atomic partial and your travelling at the speed of light. I'm not sure if time really exist at all I think if man made construct. Because a clock does not measure anything. Scott |
