Feeling inadequate...help please!

I'm gonna try to keep this short and sweet. As the title says, I'm having extreme feelings of inadequacy both in the workplace and in social situations. I understand that these feelings stem from my history of depression and issues with insecurity, and I've been working on improving this area of my life for some time but have seemed to hit a wall. I feel like there's an aura of inferiority surrounding me, that others look down on me, and I'm nervous when I speak to anyone about anything. I have always been the nice guy, the one who avoids conflict and tries to please everyone. To keep it as simple as possible, I would describe it as feeling that I'm not good enough for anyone and thus have to maintain a subordinate approach and attitude to those I encounter.

I've been able to regain some control over these feelings, but decided to turn to the forums to get input and advice from all of you. Anyone out there in a similar situation? How did you get over it? Anything would help and be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Based on my learning about the program in your university and the sense of the development of service industry in Japan but also all over the world, these words could sum up the details and examples I experienced in the past.

is the sentence above right? if not, how can it be changed in natural English?

How do you Plan?

What is your low level planning method?
Once you lock your goals then How you plan for duration of
1Day, 1Week, 1Month, 3Month, 6month?

What planning method working for you? Which one is most effective and empowering for you ?
How do you do detail planning?

in my life, i have never seen anyone who is consistent on good planning including me. But i think this is the best skill to have.

What do you think?

Hey all,

For the last several years, I've used Franklin Covey's Plan Plus program for my to-do list and keeping everything organized, etc.

Now, I'm thinking of going with a Mac. Since the Plan Plus is designed to work with Outlook, I'm looking for something else. Preferably something that would allow me to do most of my main stuff on the laptop and then sync to my blackberry.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys.

Whenever I'm drunk or really tired, I find that I can think really clearly, in the sense that I know exactly what I need to do in order to get my life to where I want it to be. I'm also extremely motivated to get all these things done.

But when I wake up the day after, I find myself falling back into my old habits of procrastinating and doing unnecessary **** that doesn't help me at all. I've tried stuff like writing things down when I'm in that state so I'll be able to do the stuff I need but it's doesn't seem to be helping.

Does anyone have any exercises or tips that can help me maintain this state once I sober down or actually being in that state without alcohol or not sleeping for 2-3 days straight?

Thanks.

Try at least one entheogen.
Have a mystical experience.
Practice meditation.
Make love.
Perform an extreme (death defying) physical activity (i.e. skydiving).

Screw it, this list would get way too long. List 5 things, or whatever you want.

I notice this this is a pretty old post, but hopefully someone can help:

* What sort of an environment do you need to be in, when listening to one of these tapes?
* Also do you need to be in a meditative posture, or can you simply lie down on the bed?

Thanks

Hello

I need some help overcoming procrastination. I've spent most of my days/evenings doing useless things and I'm not getting anything useful done. I've fallen into a rut.

I see this is a common complaint and it should be easy to kick; a thirty-day trial should do the trick. There's a complication though; as I'm slightly autistic there's an additional 'energy barrier' that I need to overcome to get moving. I've had much success in doing this with some help, but I'm at a low ebb right now and the person who helped me before is no longer a regular part of my life.

Can anyone help?

how to get rid of fear when making decisions

Hey everybody,

I love this site and this forum and people here and that's where I came to ask for some help and encouragement ;)

I have this big problem of not being able to make decisions. Especially big decisions. It's like I want something and I work to get it (for example I want to move to another city) and when I have an opportunity finally... BAM!... I freak out. I start thinking about what I might lose, that things won't work out there, I won't like it, I'll regret it... blah blah blah... I think this is usual for many people, but why if deep inside I wanted it, I made a decision to go for it and just when all is left is to jump - I back away..
like the thing with moving... I wanted it for a long time, but still can't do it, the thing that always makes me frustrated is about leaving my parents and I think about who'll take care of them when they are really old...and this makes me feel so guilty (even though both my parents moved away to different city from their parents and they support me in my decision), but I keep thinking about it over and over again, making myself feeling really bad and sad and that's what'sholding me back...
I just want to know how to break this "wall" that I always bump into...
I read Steve's articles that are really encouraging: "Regretting tomorrow" and "Making decisions that stick", I get inspired when I read them, but then it all comes back...

I really wish I could stop worrying about the future too much...
I want to learn how to bungee jump without spending 2 hours at the top there thinking about how'd it feel, will the rope break... and just JUMP, because if I'm standing there with ropes around my waist - that's what I wanted to do..

So after reading one of Curtis2011's posts about what he doesn't like about bloggers, and that people should write from personal experiance and what there passionate about, everything just suddenly went together. As if it was what I needed to hear. The last piece of the puzzle.
It was in that moment, that i thought to myself what do I feel passionate about and what do I have experiance in? And I've known the aw
