So I've been reading the posts on chakras and reading blog entries on the topic and for some reason I'm just not getting it. I guess maybe what I should say is whenever I try to imagine my chakras spinning, I feel like I'm literally imagining them rather than actually feeling and knowing that they're there and spinnning. I'm having a hard time connecting with them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know I need to do some summer cleaning but I don't feel anything of what I'm doing is effective because I feel that I'm literally just imagining them and not actually wielding them. Also, with the root chakra, I'm kind of confused. In the blog it says that some say it is in your feet and that it is actually in your pelvic area. How can people feel their chakras yet have discrepencies of where they are in the body? It makes me feel that someone might have just been mistaken. I understand that in lotus or indian positiion this wouldn't matter, but there have been times where I've tried to meditate while sitting in a chair and this completely messed with my mind because I didn't know where to imagine my root chakra and I didn't want to concentrate on the area where it actually wasn't. So if you guys have some ideas I'd appreciate a share! lol Thanks guys!!! -YoYo |

I don't know about everyone else but my root chakra is in my pelvis. It actually took me the longest to locate that one over the others. It also took me several attempts to really locate and activate these energy centers. It's kind of like trying to find an obscure muscle, like your cheek muscle, and move just that particular muscle. Isolating and locating takes practice. You mention that you are imagining them spinning. That's okay. But instead of that, try feeling them spinning. Try just putting your mind's attention on that area of your body. Try to feel that specific area, isolate it. Feel heat inside it. Imagine it's like a ball of energy and then spin it. If you've never done this before it can take some getting used to and some practice. But don't give up. One thing I sometimes do is touch the chakra area to draw my attention to it. Try touching your chest or yoru third eye and concentrating on just that area for a while. |

| I had the same problem here and as Erin mentioned above it took me a while to locate it. However, for me its way down at the bottom of the spine. From what I understand, your base chakra is the doorway for energy and so its important that you spend enough time on it. Keep trying and you will find it.
