That's funny, I was just having a discussion about this with one of my friends yesterday! Interesting synchronicity... The blog post answers some of the questions that we were wondering about too.

But now I'm wondering... when I'm in contact with a spirit, how can I tell if they're earthbound or if they've crossed over? Is there any way to tell other than the odds or by just asking them?

And can a completely crossed over spirit still haunt a place by moving objects or are they bound to use "telepathy"?

Earthbound spirits are more likely to "haunt" a location or person.

If you're fully crossed over you can still knock photos down and send signs and all that.

It's more a state of being.

When you're in contact with a spirit, they are more likely to be earthbound if their death was sudden, unexpected or untimely (suicide, accident, murder) but those folks usually cross over with no problem. So just ask.
