Erin I have a similar type of scenario playing out with me and meditation. In the beginning everything was exciting, everything was something to be explored, I was just curious about everything. However as time progressed I started exploring other more powerful avenues, I seemed to skip doing certain activities such as opening my chakras, communing with spirit guides, etc, on a nightly basis. After a few heavy encounters with some demonic entities, I have now just become desensitized to it all. In just the same way I believe your astral projections happen if and when something actually interesting is about to occur. Until that moment in time, I think you have now similarly prioritised other aspects of your life as being more important rather than wondering around the astral looking for something to do. I am skimming dangerously close to the idea that spiritualism is a form of entertainment rather than a Life path. However I can't help but mention that when we are bored with certain things, we just seem to navigate away from them. If we look at the reason as to why something like Astral Projection exists, I would tie it closer to allowing us an interactive spiritual discovery ability. Once you explore a great many of the concepts found on-Earth, I guess you start finding off-Earth discoveries. However I find that the less some of these discoveries have to do with my physical life, the less I really care to learn about them further. This is where the whole 'age' thing comes in; being preconditioned to place greater importance on things that directly affect your life in either a positive or negative way. This precondition isn't wrong or somehow bad, but it does mean we end up spending more time in the phsyical, rather than the spiritual. |

Hi, I'm 40 and discovered Erin's blog and other resources related to astral projection only a month or two ago. I'd say that in the previous 20 years I was more focused on the physical things to be done in life: education, job, family. While these are still strong areas of focus, I've reached a level where I can relax and start to explore some big questions. I'd say a big "no" to the idea that merely being older and more saddled with the weight of responsibilities should be making it harder. In my view, you should become more spiritually focused rather than less as you age. Your worldly problems and worldly power are greater, therefore your need for some extra help is greater too. I entered this experiment with the firm belief (affirmation, rather) that this activity is open to all of us...any blocks we have must be ones that we install ourselves. After a concerted week of effort, this morning I achieved a real OBE, passing through the whole vibrational state, rolling out of body, elatedly flying around an oceanic landscape. Anyway, I'm older, slathered in responsibilities, but I certainly feel more like a 13-year old as far as OBEs are concerned. Keep trying! I also like the comments from Midnite above...indeed, if you don't have a burning desire to get out there and explore, then enthusiasm won't be high enough to overcome any block. I can only hope to be so jaded! Though I recognize already that life/existence on these other planes has a lot in common with what we need to deal with here...it makes sense that it's possible to find the answers you need in a brief but intense time, then put the whole astral projection thing away in a drawer for a while. Thanks for the opportunity, all the best, --Michael |
