Sorry I took so long to comment, I was having difficulty getting registered. I think the problem was that I had scripts blocked in my browser. I was the one who posted the question and I wanted to thank you for your answer. It was very helpful and broke me out of the mental loop of thinking about my wife then worried that my pain could be affecting her negatively In some ways, life, death, heaven and hell were simpler back in my baltimore catechism days but the dogma just didn't resonate with me. My wife had tried for years to open my eyes with little success. I think that her death was my wake-up call because that is when I started reading and exploring. Eckhard Tolle's book The New Earth was probably the biggest eye opener. Suddenly I understood what my wife meant about me "living in my own head". Sorting out a different view of "life, the universe and everything" has quite an undertaking. It has been aided by people like you who provide insights and food for thought. I believe that my wife is still working to break me free of my old concepts. For example, she loved music whereas I rarely listen to it. I use a clock radio as an alarm and probably listen to 10-15 seconds of music in any given day; just the time it takes to wake up and turn off the radio. Several times I have awakened not just to one of her favorite songs but to specific lyrics of the song. I know that she thinks about me and that lifts me up. I am glad that thinking about her from this existence of lower frequency is not going to pul her down. Thanks again. |
