Awhile ago I was meditating on the sigil of a particular spirit in the sphere of Venus. I heard a voice, it was the most beautiful, enchanting, other-wordly voice I've ever heard. She was calling a name in a beckoning way, I forget what it was but it started with "A" and I felt it to be my true spiritual name.

I've read elsewhere that everyone has a spiritual name, and it seems lots of people know it somehow. Like Paulo Cohello who wrote "The Pilgrimage" (highly recommend btw) talks about his true spiritual name and how you should never tell anyone it.

I was wondering if there's a practice that people do to find out their real name and if you know of it?

Ok, I might try working on my throat chakra a bit more too. I 'hear' it increases clair-audience, which is an under-developed area for moi.

Why aren't you supposed to tell anyone your spirit name?

I know mine. It came to me while I was in an extremely emotional, yet high state. I was writing my (now) husband an email and at the end I signed it a different name. At first I didn't think anything of it but after a second or so I thought hey, wait, that's not my name. However, when I wrote it it was like a weight was being lifted off my shoulders in a way and I felt tingles throughout my body similarly to what one feels during reiki.

I asked my guide about it and his response was "yeah, that's your name what of it? You really didn't think your parents got it right did you?"

From my experience the more you try to "find it" the more evasive it is. Simply manifest it and it will find you whenever the time is right.
