I didn't get far. My answers to the question which was repeated several times in the beginning was "Nothing." "Nothing." "Nothing." "Well, maybe 'good-bye'." I have nothing to say. |

Well, I feel all talked out. I guess I spent the first half of my life trying to get a message out, but people don't listen or pay attention to me and I've worn myself out trying to be heard. Moreover, any message I might have had has been repeated in the world ad nauseum I think, like all of the examples that you listed. There are people who can stand and deliver messages and have credibility, respect and an audience, and then there are people like me. Sometimes I also discover I am chasing something that I think has to do with my life purpose, but turns out to be something else, like some misdirected love, often because I have concluded that I can't actually attain what I really feel is my purpose or what I really want. I just can't get past the idea that my primary purpose is to be married and happy in love. It's not the kind of purpose you are talking about, and it certainly isn't one you can make money doing. Yet any time I try to aim for something else, I just can't sustain it, because I don't care enough, or else I discover eventually that it was somehow related to a guy I loved. And I think Fendaril is referring to Steve's recent post Living Your Life Purpose. Last edited by Bliss Sage; 06-20-2011 at 09:15 PM. | |

Ah, steve and I sometimes write about teh same topics, but they are always accidental. I wrote this article a few weeks ago actually, and set it to post today. well if you feel talked out, that's one thing. But I still think you have a message. |

| I may have, but it doesn't seem like my best method of conveying it is in words, spoken or written, and am not too sure what it is anymore, due to all the "false alarms" I've had with life goals and purposes. It feels more like an emotion I have to convey.

Honestly what I come up with is beauty, harmony, peace... and I don't feel the need to do this on a large scale. Peace starts at home... oh and it's definitely aligned with what I do at the moment |

Actually...upon further reflection, what I come up with is a situation I have been struggling with now more and more. There are actually many different fields I wish I had known to go into when I was younger - psychology, global humanitarianism or NGO's, diplomacy - and those fields would have facilitated my gifts and probably anything relating to my life purpose. At this late stage in my life, I would be approaching retirement age if I went back to school just to get initial qualifications to work in any of those fields. I guess that is the brick wall I keep running into these days. One thing I wish, for example, is that I could be in a position to negotiate peace in global situations. I think I would have been good at that. |

Bliss, maybe you can put yourself in a position to initiate peace in smaller situations. Or you could write a book about how you think peace could be achieved in our world. You could approach young people or college students and leave them with a map for making peace happen in the future. Write a play or movie showing how world peace is possible. Become a mediator.

Well, I have been looking for an organization where I live that I could do volunteer work with. I have especially wanted to work with refugees. I came to this conclusion recently after realizing it might be easier logistically to find the kind of work I want to do where I am than to travel to some war zone. After some looking, I think I may have found a good organization, which even does work in the war zone I was looking at going to. I'll find out more next week when they have an information meeting for new volunteers. Unfortunately, I can't make a living at volunteer work though...but I wouldn't have to if I were married either Edit: So now I've just decided that I will attempt another intention, though I'm in the middle of at least one major one. I will just intend a paying job I am really really good at that I really really love. That should cover it, even if I don't know what it could be. Last edited by Bliss Sage; 06-21-2011 at 07:46 PM. |
