I used a much worse method. I pursued one dream for over 20 years, and after I had had enough failing and suffering, I quit. Along the way, a different, small dream developed, which I am now pursuing, and which ought to work out, because it doesn't involve the first dream.

Basically, I got "forced out" of my first dream and was faced with a very dismal option, or quitting that dream to pursue the smaller dream.

Well...sometimes I have had the feeling that, in the pursuit of the smaller dream, I would find the big one. Kind of like, along my life path. Like I kept getting beaten up in pursuit of my one dream, as if I were getting yelled at for diverging from what "the powers that be" wanted me to be doing with my life - but I didn't want to do until I had attained my first dream.

I never had a problem choosing which dream to pursue, but I basically got "kicked out" by the dream I really wanted.

I still kind of have a strong feeling that the big dream will come when I realize the little dream. I don't know why it was done this way, but it was.
