I had a dream the other night that was very strange and vivid. I should have written it down, but since I didn't much of the detail has faded. Basically, in the dream I was with my ex boyfriend (see the thread "Dealing with the end of a relationship" if you need backstory) and it was as if I was with him when he was a child and we were both children. He was showing me horrible things that happened to him. I was saddened for him in the dream and at one point fires began to erupt all over the home we were in. I was frantically trying to put them out with a small pitcher of water, but nothing would work. He sat by complacent. Then I woke up, but the strangest thing happened. I was conscious of being awake and remembering the dream feeling a little sad and wondering what I should take from it, but my left eye was twitching frantically and I had this I don't know what to call it??? A vision or waking dream (I don't have much experience in this). I have had similar things before. This seemed unrelated to the dream I awoke from. I saw a figure (thoughts struck me that it was me, my ex, a child...I couldn't be sure of the identity). The figure was on a hospital bed trying to move around and doctors and nurses were holding this person down and injecting them with something or drawing blood I can't be sure. I was awake and scared becuase this was a weird experience. I almost prayed for this to be taken away, but I stopped myself and prayed instead to be shown what it meant if anything. So far, nothing has come to me. Maybe it is nothing, but it was a very strange experience and I don't want to discount it right away. Maybe it is just becuase of my intense emotional state at the moment or the stress I am feeling or lack of sleep. Maybe you have an insight? (Or you can just tell me it's nothing...) Thanks! |

Honestly this sounds like an alien abduction scenario. I would post this on Noble Realms they can help you better. Since many have expereinced like sceanrios. Here's a great resource to learn more. Karla Turner Memorial The ebooks are great reads! |

Woah. It's so weird that you bring that up becuase it was one of the first thoughts I had when I "came out of it." And I generally don't give much credence to alien abduction stuff, though I do feel there definitely could be other beings in the universe. I just sort of said 'nah' and went to some other explanations. Very interesting. I will look into those links. Still not sure if that's the difinitive answer, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Other thoughts? |

Interesting dream! Here are a few thoughts that came to my mind regarding what various aspects of it might symbolize: You and your ex as children: innocent, vulnerable aspects of your psyche, parts of you that need to be nurtured and guided. Fire: Fire often means anger (how many times have you heard someone say they were "burning up" when they were mad, or that someone has a "fiery temper"?) Home with your ex: The home you were in may symbolize your relationship together. Fire in the home: Anger in your relationship. You were the only one trying to put the fire out; your ex didn't care. Is that reminiscent of your break-up? Did you feel that you were the one "putting out the fires" while he just sat there? As for the waking dream: the figure on the bed was resisting the dr's and nurses. Seems symbolic of a struggle you are having with accepting what it takes to heal, perhaps because it seems too painful to face, like an unpleasant medical treatment? Sweet dreams! Thanks, mentalmosaic. Your interpretation seems to strike a chord with me. These were some of the same things I thought myself. Dreams are just so intriguing (forgive my spelling) to me. So many possibilities. Thanks for your input.

Yes, dreams really intrigue me, too, aspiring_to_clarity It's a fun way to learn about symbolism. Personally, I think we should all learn to more about symbols, since they are a primal part of our consciousness. Thanks again for sharing your dream! Tui |
