Thank you.

One of the most important things in my opinion is to understand FLOW, just to let everything happen through you and be yourself, without wasting energy by thinking much about yourself.

Hey Gubby,

I'm an artist, I talked to this guy jlof on deviantART because he was really humble about his art in spite of being totally awesome, and he said that if he becomes too egotistical he levels his spirits lower and produces work of a lower quality. I've also found the same that being less egotistical aligns me more with universal flow and I do much better works.. But I guess that egotistical isn't always the opposite of humility

Also you talk about wanting to get to the next level, and I think that with business and internet it takes time to grow, I'm growing my art business gradually & incrementally, and the basketball coach Greg Popovich had this line that I stick to "take your time to win the ball game" might be about patience?

I guess you're an ENFP by how you talk...

FYI: You need a better light for you videos.

If you are intent on ’saving’ something, please save yourself first before inflicting it on others.

There are an infinite number of ‘levels’, there is no end that you can get to by getting through them all.

It’s not about being humble or not, be who you are, no more and no less.

My suggestion in regards to the crowd going quiet when you speak, try communicating with them silently.

This seems a rather conflictive post, doesn't it? "Please save yourself before inflicting it on others"? Seems like you have very little confidence in my convictions. If so, you could have been more respectful about presenting your case as it's obvious I could take offense at that.

I notice that you are basically only mentioning objections you have with various parts of the video and/or my philosophy. Not a problem, exactly, but I wanted to make that observation.

Anyway thanks for viewing and I hope you did find something of value for you!

Yeah, I think it isn't. To be honest the humbleness thing wasn't important, but I could see someone objecting "be more humble" after the bit about my own gift so I felt I had to answer that possible objection.

I think false humility, or thinking you need to hide your positive qualities and not make other people feel inferior in comparison, is a very dangerous thing. If everyone was like that we'd have no geniuses and no world-changers.

Yes, in part it is definitely that. But I also notice that there are things I could do which would speed up the process, which because of some internal block, I just haven't done. So I think there is some behind-the-scenes psychological stuff that needs to be taken care of. Or possibly it's a protection because it's not quite aligned for me to be massively successful yet; I don't know for sure.

I have a similar thing going on with me, but I think that's more self-discipline than what you mentioned.

For feedback,
I think in the video you talk a lot about yourself, and the points you made weren't totally clear what you were trying to say until I discussed it with you on here. After then, the message became a bit clearer,

and you talked about yourself and wstein gave his opinions of you, based on your talk.

However, I'm not saying this is a bad thing, because it's your first video and you've got to start somewhere, but in future I think you could make the video a bit more directed towards the viewer to get your point across.. i've found you are quite easy to engage with on these forums and so should be able to do well with youtube videos..

After reading your article, I think my problem wasn't self-discipline but self-organisation,

But I dunno, maybe I'll take my original advice and just give it time..

Andrew, you are such a cutie! I love how intently you connect with the camera (the audience) speaking like you're speaking directly to me and looking into my eyes.

It does look pretty dark on my monitor, even at my brightest setting. For me, I'll watch a three minute video, but nine minutes is too long unless there is something TOTALLY compelling right off the bat, in the first 15 seconds -- like, a really engaging question asked of me, or an invitation or insight that knocks my socks off, or if you make me laugh.

I am completely inspired by your making this video and expressing yourself in the world!

I love you.

(oooh! I just hit 22 thousand!)

Perhaps you meant no harm by using the term ‘save’. It conflicts with my view that the Earth (or anything else) doesn’t need saving. I am a tinge burned by people trying to ‘fix’ things ‘for my good’ against my wishes and in fact making things worse.

Take offense or don’t, it was not meant as a direct attack on you, it was more of a cry of pain. I do apologize for being judgmental about whether or not you have already ‘saved yourself’. Your convictions seem real but yes, I am very skeptical that you can do a better job of addressing my problems. I will be more direct (and less personal), anyone trying to ‘save’ me is going to get opposition.

That being said, there is plenty of room for improvement of the situation on this planet. Humans themselves are a major contributor to the problems that now threaten their future. Rally the troops and get people to clean up their act in their own best interest.

You have found your audience, I will bow out of this discussion.

Thanks for sharing Andrew. I'm not sure about giving you a "feedback" because I noticed that you said you are sharing it, not that you are asking what we think of it .

By the way, just as an info for you, we all have planets of where we come from and where we are going (South knot and North knot). You are going in Aquarius which is a humanitarian sign, so bang on. Keep going on your path!

So I watched your video.

First part where you mention wondering if it's not the right time to get to the next level, I've been contemplating the same thing too lately. All that stuff about the journey's just as important as the destination, you know? At the same time I think it's important to consider whether that feeling is coming from a place of fear because if it is that means it either isn't genuine or it's a warning that the direction you're trying to go in is actually dangerous. Laugh in the face of danger and all that.

I have a big urge to communicate too and people often tell me I blow them away with how well I communicate things they feel like they never could.

I'm not quite the same as you as far as being humble though. I feel like I'm often too humble and use it as an excuse to hide and skate by through life without having to challenge myself. A lot of it is, like you said, protecting myself from myself. Exposing yourself so much is risky! But not as risky as you're probably imagining it. But of course the most important thing that you may be feeling is that your skills aren't quite refined enough yet and you feel you should wait?

Andrew, have you thought about making your videos outside in nature? It might help immensely. I get the sense that you feel kind of strained indoors when you're trying to be open. It's a place of confinement and comfort, for sleeping and quietly working. I really really get the sense that your speech will flow more comfortably outdoors.

Sorry if this seemed too critical, just trying to be helpful, thanks for sharing your light with us

Agreed.

I also agree with kaleidascopeVision when he talks about you seeming like you feel constricted, restless even. Maybe that's just natural frustration from not feeling like you have gotten where you want to get to yet, but maybe outdoors would help you to feel more open for video filming?

Anyway, it was interesting to hear your voice after all this time. Nice message, though I have to also agree with wstein...saving yourself is the best thing you can do to save the world since we are all cells in the body of the earth...make your cell a healthy one and that adds to the overall health of the earth, because presently She is quite sick from all the sickness that people have created here.

Our personal gifts won't necessarily 'save' the world, but they will enhance life for other people and help them, which has a ripple effect when they become happier with their lives, it creates a happier society.

One thing I want to mention is the less receptive you are to feedback, whether you want it or not, the less attention your work will get. People want to tell you what they think, they want to share their opinion otherwise why would they bother listening/looking/reading/buying etc? If you share something with the world and then say "but don't tell me what you think of it!" people will lose interest rapidly.

I confirm that for the time I've known you, the way you express yourself really resonates deep with me. I for one would love to read/hear things you want to share.

Ps: sorry, not hijacking. As you were, gentlemen!

I just didn't read your post KV, I didn't have time (and I felt the urge to skip it for some reason... no offense).

I don't like critique when I'm not feeling like it, it feels invasive. I also find that a lot of people use it to feel big and see "problems" where there aren't any. Not naming names here, your own post was well enough presented.

There are some valid points you made, yeah. Nature would be nice, just not so easy to do spontaneously.

@elucidate I use "saving the world" a tinge flippantly - that is I doubt any one person is going to bring it back from the brink on their own, but I like the movie-esqueness of the word for humourous reasons and I also think it's motivating and cool. Read "contribute" if you like.

I do believe in "saving" the world, to some extent, though, because I can see that if things don't change (deforestation, cO2, etc) the world isn't going to be habitable forever.

In general it seems like an arrogant thing to give someone a piece of advice whether they want it or not and just expect it to go down well. Actually the advice is usally critique, which is famous for being hard to swallow when not presented in the right way (and previously solicited). I also find that unsolicited feedback from people who don't know me well just doesn't resonate that much. Steve said something like that before. That people who don't know you personally, can't really get to the root of the matter when they're bringing up what they percieve as your "issues".

For the record, I have already thought about something along the lines what you brought up, but I don't feel like making any changes to the video or doing anything new for the moment.
I like to tell myself I'm challenging you to grow, rather than being arrogant but that works fine too.

Forgot how much I missed coming here. Love ya, Gubb.

Edit because I noticed your edit but now it's unsuccessful because it's quoted here. Uh oh. Want me to remove this and pretend like it never happened?

Thanks Weena that means a lot . Procrastination is my biggest obstacle to writing. If I write a blog or something anytime soon you'll be one of the first to know!
