I loved this! I felt like I could've written it because I'm self-employed and work under the same conditions. I have negotiated for more time off too.

Thanks for writing this, Erin. It's a little pick-me-up for all the self-employed people out there doing their part.

This is a really good article, Erin. It's excellent, grounded advice for anyone who's thinking about quitting their jobs. Don't go off the deep end unless you're driven to swim and succeed, because people can and do sink in the process.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

It's like reading about myself. Woke up at 6 and quickly started working on made-to-order stuff. Then after the kids woke up and my husband left for work I wrote down in my diary a couple of tips I was given by a very special person in my life (an incredibly successful person who is helping me with my working part of life) and four new creative ideas that just came to me very quickly as I drank my morning coffee (thank you spirit guides!). I do everything by myself, creating, marketing etc + have to "run a household" at the same time. I'm very proud of myself these days .

Default your boss is a wonderful woman

Hey,

Your boss might be a bit of a control freak at times. But really, she is a wonderful woman.

"*****" being a word once used to describe the goddess in her role as protector of the family, mother, and mate.

Being a woman is a primal matter. It goes all the way down into our very mammal-ness and beyond. Rock it, Erin. The intelligent use of one's innate nature is what incarnating is all about!

Origin of PASSION

The passions (sufferings) of Christ

Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin passion-, passio suffering, being acted upon, from Latin pati to suffer — more at patient
First Known Use: 13th century

If you LIKE what you do for a living, maybe "passion" is not the correct word.

Not talking about you, because you work for yourself, but many of these bosses I've worked for and around seem to be little egocentrical and self-important "Jesuses", causing self and others to suffer solely for their causes, thinking that through crucifying themselves and others via their irrationally-driven career hi-jinks, they'll die and be reborn into a "heaven" where they will be Gods and have total control over even more territory.

hhaha, I think I wrote this one after my 20 minute lunch on Blogging Day, and was inspired to share my thoughts and pseudo frustrations of working for myself.
