Consequences of changing your destiny?

What happens if you use your free will to choose a different destiny or life plan than your original one?

In that case, all the predestined events that was supposed to come about have now changed. Does a new set replace the old ones, or is everything wiped out and you have pretty much free will over your own life? Even your Higher Self / spirit guides won't have any answers for you, since your destiny is now completely different? They'll still guide you based on your current trajectory, but besides that, you're on your own? Also, what about your previous karmic obligations, are you still supposed to fulfill them, or do they not apply anymore?

I have the feeling that my current destiny and life purpose is completely different than what I chose to be born with. I did some muscle testing and confirmed it was true. It would explain a lot of issues and disconnects that I'm having in my life right now, almost as if I'm living two different lives at once, where the old karmic obligations no longer seemed to apply, but they are still in my life. Would I still have to fulfill them, in that case? Or is it best to just start becoming independent and lead my own life, and leave everything else behind? Is there a point to asking your guides and/or trying to figure out what your life purpose is, if you've already gone and changed it?

Thoughts/suggestions appreciated :)

Interesting that you bring this up now. Last night I made a list of the topics I will be blogging about in the next 2 weeks and this was one of them. Stay tuned.

etheral,
If you carry the notion that we only live in the present moment then plans and predestined events don't exist. They are in the future. If you change your direction/focus in life you do it for that moment and the world will shift to support you. By the same token karma (the past) doesn't exist either.

You are supported all the time for any choice you make. You cannot get abandoned by your earthly and non-physical support structures unless you abandon them.

Thanks for the replies :)

Will try to be more present and not overthink the process. It's the journey and not the destination that counts, right? :)

Looking forward to that blog article Erin :) Thanks!

I think time in the linear way that we see it, doesn't quite give the whole picture. Think of it as ripples in a pond. Normally the pond surface is calm. That's your "predestined" life, if that's what you want to call it. When you drop a stone into it, ripples carry information about the change outward. I think the same thing happens when you toss destiny to the winds, ripples carry data outward (only much faster than in a pond) and things automatically "realign".
What I'm talking about is known as "field theory" in physics. Might want to look it up.

PS: If anyone is interested in a physics-oriented metaphysics discussion, I'm game.
