A lot of the times in life, I feel that if I don't work really really hard and try my best all the time then I won't do a good job and will fail. However there are times when it would be very beneficial for me to just think 'well if this isn't perfect, in the grand scheme of things it really is NOT going to matter'. For example, a few days ago I found out I got an ok mark for my coursework but I started beating myself about it and thinking 'why didn't I work harder!!? Why didn't I write that!?' when the coursework only counted for a minute percentage of our degree. Later on I thought to myself, 'well there are people homeless without food and shelter and I'm here sulking about my coursework mark!' So where's this balance between trying your best and not trying at all? Where's this fine line between being laidback and being...lazy? |
