Usually when I get chills on one side of my body, it's a reminder that I left the bedroom window open.

In all seriousness, I have gotten the chills during moments of inspiration or high excitement. I remember one week when I got tons of chills... it was nuts! I like your theory, Erin.

Based on my experiences, I agree with what Erin wrote. It's one of my main connections with intuition at the current time.

I often experience the sensation of chills down my back when giving account of all of the things I'm grateful for that happened that day. But instead of it just being a chill and then leaving, sometimes this beam of energy or chills is felt for minutes at a time. I don't know what it is, but it feels so good that I usually keep thinking of more things I'm grateful for so it will continue!

gratitude chills... yes I've gotten those and also when I feel intense love, like for my kids, I get this tingling in my back that is so intense it almost hurts.

I don't mean to be snarky by asking this, but what about chills in/on an ear? I know what "they" say about burning ears, but this feels like a chill, not burning/flushing hot. Usually on the left side, and generally at random (I'm by myself a lot).

Just kidding. I don't know. i'd have to feel it on my ears to know what the energy is behind the sensation.

Wow, this is interesting.

When I was young (child through teenager), I would get chills in the presence of particular people. I tried to figure out a pattern to it, but best I could come up with was when I was around someone who approached life with integrity and completeness (for example, my great uncle, who was a cabinet maker who knew his craft inside and out, I would get chills when watching him work with wood.).

It always startled me when it happened but then I would feel more open and as though the world was more full.

Can't remember if the chills were one-sided or not, but they were on my back and scalp.

Somewhere in my 20's I completely lost this, but always wondered whether it was some kind of psychic thing.

I sometimes get a sensation in my scalp, is this similar? It's more like a "shift" but it's an odd sensation, kind of like chills down the spine, but just cerebral..?

By one side of the body, do you mean like just your back or front, or do you mean like left or right side? I don't know that I get that sensation on just left or right, but I do get goose bumps at times like what you describe...

strange, I read this article, and the next day a guy was telling me about how "the good and bad" somethings are working in politics and Obama being a sign that the good "creatures" are in control again and I got the chills, and remembered this article. His thoughts in general were very weird though (the planet being flipped so the poles are turning, invasions from other planets with creatures that are feeding on us, 2012 and indigo children (The freedom teachings), but maybe he was right about the politic part. Or everything.
