What a great story! Loved every bit of it. So, being the overly empathetic person that I am - Is it possible that even a dead psychopathic spirit longs the sympathy that you felt for him (way way deep down), and that's why he visited you again? Is it ever possible to help a spirit like this, or is that a job best left to angels and the like? He sounds like he has the maturity of a two year old... Anyway - glad you are okay! |

He definitely didn't want to be sympathized with. Lowered his perceived power. Didn't want anyone feeling sorry for him. That made him super angry. Pam also started feeling sorry for him. He doesn't seem the type willing to accept love. I'm not going to try to cross hiim over. Maury and I discussed that. it's not the safest thing for us to do.

Erin, it was unfair especially in sunset room where you got possessed. you all should have walkie-talkies. At least you would have sent them little signals that you are in trouble. i enjoyed this investigation & thank you so much to share!!! |

Federer, I was sitting right next to my compatriots. Didn't need a walkie talkie, just couldn't get their attention and they couldn't see me struggling in the dark. It was frustrating to a very high degree.

I can see this now. It is frustrating. Spirit was trying to make you confused, helpless, so you become extreme angry person to attack anyone. It was really dangerous spirit. If any psychic doesn't know how to get control back then anything can happen. Excellent points to learn.

He basically wanted an opportunity to speak and express himself. And yeah, he wanted to beat the crap out of Dana and make him suffer. I think part of the reason I was able to resist the urge was knowing Dana would beat me up. i had a strong reason not to let this guy do what he wanted to do.

Erin, I had my first experiences with possession a few years ago. They freaked me out enough that I went and joined an African Trance Possession religion to learn how to deal with it. While I have a feeling that a lot of the avoiding and ending unwanted possessions is practice that I received from those years, there are a lot of things you can do to prevent the situations from arising in the first place. Do you have religious reasons for avoiding magick? I teach multiple protections and other options at my site "powerbeforewisdom . com" . (I intentionally didn't turn that into a link. I don't want you thinking I'm trying to link whore here.) It really shocks me that your house is so open that you've had multiple visits at your bed. While my house protections are solid enough that I watch salesmen stop at encountering the outermost barrier and decide to skip my house (It's lots of fun watching a faith salesman shudder and cross themselves figuratively before moving on), I've put protections on my daughter's room that make it feel like a bomb shelter. My daughter is like me and her mother. She's open, she routinely does "energy healings" on people and animals, she speaks with spirits and has them follow her home. I've never heard you mention your kids awareness moments, but I would be shocked if they aren't pretty darn open themselves. I started teaching Ari astral combat @ 3, because she needed it. I guess I'm just selling you on the idea of "PLEASE SHIELD YOUR HOUSE!" I additionally have (willingly) bound spirits who patrol, collect ambient energy and even have permission to use my energy to protect our territory. I admit it makes it harder for a friendly to come through without express permission and that might interfere with your work (how much do you need open access while sleeping?), but you could setup a circle around your bed or working space to handle that. Anyhow. Sorry to sound preachy. I've enjoyed following your work for a while, and while we're on different paths I've learned a lot from you. I know things will work out as they should. Hope these ideas help. ^_^ Scott Reimers Last edited by Scott Reimers; 10-22-2010 at 03:43 PM. |

See, spirits were used to live lonely here for many years. I wonder how they become so powerful with so negativity??? IF no-one is showing up, then they will earn no fear from people. It should be draining for them.

Hi Erin! In an earlier post, you mentioned it was significant that you stayed in room 8 instead of room 20, but in your last post you made hardly any mention of it. So why did you feel you were instructed to choose one over the other? Also, when you said that bringing Matty along probably saved two lives, do you mean yours and Dana's when Matty's humor broke the influence? |

I would love to send Angela in there to help the guy. That would be an interesting discourse for sure!! We should take a quick trip out there after CGW. When are you leaving? @Scott: I shield when necessary but not all the time. Tis true. I have remedied that since. @Federer: Yes this guy is feeding off the peopel's energy who come and visit with him. It's a viscious cycle. @Delia: Yes, Matty's humor and his intuitive ability to sense what was going on with me even though he couldn't see me, saved me and Dana both. I'm so grateful he came. If he hadn't, DAna would be walking around with less teeth methinks. As far as room 8 and 20. I was handed two keys when i checked in. Without even checking the rooms out I knew I wanted 8. But I offered the choice to the guys first. They didn't seem to care so I took 8. Once we scoped out both rooms I knew the energy in 8 was better than the energy in 20. Reportedly, the ghost who haunts 20 likes to shake people's beds and talk to them. People often don't last all the way through the night in 20. But Matty encoutnered two female spirits there instead. There are a lot of ghosts in that hotel and they move around a bit. We were so dog goned tired, I don't think anything could have woken any of us. i did see Pam shuffling back to her bed at one point and she was walking really strangely, but then I realized taht she had been in the bathroom with the light on and was coming out into the darkness and probably couldn't se. But I did wait until she went back into her bed before going to sleep. You know... just in case she wanted to cut my head off with an axe. It was a fun, harrowing experience. Tiring, but awesome. I really want to do antoher investigation somewhere. |

This guy apparently has some issues with respect, so my guess is that if I just showed up on his turf looking to help him, he might react to me the way he reacted to Dana -- that is, extreme resistance. I would prefer to, if he's open to my sharing my tools with him, getting into his model of the world and helping him to generate some breakthrough "thinking." (or whatever the afterlife version of that is called.) So I'll tell you what -- I'll do some dreamwork tonight, and send him a formal invitation, letting him know that he's something of a celebrity now, and inviting him to learn about some tools that have become available since he took up residence at Amargosa. If he accepts, let's go! And if he declines, or if he deletes my invitation as spam, I'll respect his wishes. How does that sound?

Erin, sorry if I'm out of place here, and please feel free to completely ignore me if I am What came into my mind when reading this series, and especially after the last one; Maybe it is time to start working on assessing your personal boundaries? I kept reading "I didn't want to, but Maury talked us into it", "I didn't think it was a good idea, but we decided to do it anyway", "I was tired and wanted to go to sleep, but we went to another place anyway". And of course the main nudge is that this spirit got inside your head and "pushed" you away. As well, afterward, you really needed to talk to Maury, and yet you didn't assert that clear enough for her to make some time for you during the trip, although you went through a lot. Maybe this is a (not so friendly) nudge for you to assert yourself some more? Anyway... just something I noticed, and I could be completely off track here. Hope you don't mind I threw it out here anyway. |

| Funny that you say that... I've had some wonderful nightmares myself last night after reading part 1,2,3 and 4. Some girl child with nasty looking skin (think Zombie meets the Black Plague meets melted barbie) and some scary see-through people.... And then waking up at 4.11 (I always wake up at 4.11 or 3.11) with a giant headache.... |

| Sorry!!! I'll tell you about the dream that I had this morning before I woke up... I was in a large grass island or something, and there were beautiful colors and flowers and trees in the distant. The weather was that perfect weather, not too cold, not too warm with a nice gentle breeze. The smell was that of spring.. It felt completely peaceful and joyful. |

I couldn't help but feel a little frustration towards Maury in this story. Maybe it wasn't her fault that she had a sudden impulse to walk to the end of the hall when you were being influenced, but did she at least apologize later that she wasn't there for you when you needed her? Or at least show some remorse? What happened to you in there was a big deal. I just think that the person that could've helped you the most was a bit careless or lame in her responsibilities or even consumed with what SHE wanted to see and do.
