Erin, this is a very interesting story. And although it was left kind of unanswered, her appendix problem really added to the twist in the story, which makes its discussion even more interesting.

For example, if this teacher would have been hurt or something like this, it would be a more ordinary story (even if a more frightening experience).

I think I have heard enough of premonition/spiritual warning through dream from friends and relatives to convince me that it's not some kind of make up BS though i have never experience myself. In one case, 3 of my cousins dreamed of the same disaster befell on their deceased mother's family and the next day or two the exact incident occurred. I think the deceased mum was trying to push their sons to help out a little on her family. Everybody got this goose bumps listening to it because it's so strange and real.

Exactly. The way I see it, if we can remember the past why can't we remember the future? I think we're conditioned to think we can't access the future, but I think on certain occasions the energy from a singl event can push its way to the present and that's how premonitions occur to those paying attention.

Yep - my gifts first appeared as dreams. I saw both shuttle losses in dreams before the event, and I can't count how many personal happenings were foreseen in my dreams.

I've also read where we also rehearse our manifestations in dreams to show us if what we're creating is right for us or not. For example a dream of a car crash is a warning to us about watching our worries about car crashes, because we're pulling this into our reality.

Default an experience

I had a dream just the other night... or, something. It was when I was half-asleep, had woken up and was drifting off again.

Some background: I facilitate drum circles, and my car was full of drums. I had led a circle that evening, and had one the next day. The temps were OK to leave them in the car, so I decided that would be easiest. I'm always a *little* nervous about that, in case someone breaks into the car, but I have a big dog who barks if anyone comes into the yard. I felt OK about it that night.

So, I had slept, and had woken up very early in the morning. I recently had my first "unbidden" lucid dream. I'd never looked into that, but since that happened, I've been reading more about it. I was thinking of that as I was drifting off, trying to keep my eyes open as I drifted off, maintaining consciousness as long as possible. Right as I started to go to sleep, I heard an EVIL voice yell out: "Don't clean out your car, bitch!" Yikes! My first thought was to rush out and clean out the car! But it was 4:30 or so in the morning...and I was warm in bed. I "felt" around to see what was going on, and decided to let it go 'til later in the day. A little later, I heard a huge BOOM right in my back yard. It sounded like an explosion! I jumped up and looked out the window, and realized the construction people working next door had just had their huge dumpster dropped off. But I realized... if it had been an explosion, and we had needed to leave quickly, I wouldn't have fit everyone into the car with my drums in there! I have two boys (and a dog, and 4 cats). If we had needed to evacuate, I would have been throwing my drums all over the yard to get everyone in the car! I cleaned the car out that morning, and have decided to not leave the drums in, even if I have back-to-back circles again. You never know when you'll need your car empty...

Since then, I've been second-guessing... like maybe the "voice" knew I'm kind of contrary and would do the opposite of what they told me to do... but, for now, I'm going with the info I have.

Erin, your dream story gave me goosebumps.

I imagine had it really come true, it would have haunted you forever...blech!

The closest I've come to having a premonition in a dream, or one that came true was once last year when I dreamed my 90-something year old grandmother was sick or hurt (I think in my dream it was like a heart attack or something).

I pretty much forgot about it, but a day or 2 later, I was chatting online with my mom and she told me that my grandmother had fallen and was in the hospital. I asked her when it had happened, and apparently it was that very night I had my dream. Very weird for me because I don't generally dream about my grandmother that I remember at least.

I don't know if they were so much spirit guides, which I see as a positive, guiding force. Felt malevolent to me. BUT I really have little experience with "voices from beyond". It was there. I reacted.
