| Hello all, this is my first post, great forum from what I've seen! Whenever I meditate and focus on my cleansing the chakras, I have trouble with my third eye being overly active (or so I think). For some reason when my eyes are closed and I meditate, my forehead starts throbbing my eyes begin to flicker. If I focus on this, it gets more and more intense...then finally if I really let it continue I will hear a crackling/static noise. Any thoughts or suggestions on what this is? |

| Is your focus physically on the front of your forehead or more "eyes rolled in the back of the head" focus?

| I'm having this happen too, and it started getting more intense after (what I think was) a partial opening of my crown chakra. I was meditating with a swami at a local meditation center, and after 20 minutes or so of the throbbing and flickering and streams of flurrying thoughts (subconcious crud surfacing?), I briefly entered a state of expansive clear white light in my head, with a sense of all-pervading peace. I did some googling and found the following article, which may be of use to others: The Clear White Light I've been trying to meditate more and get back there ever since I seem to be having both kinds of throbbing focus occurring, sometimes sequentially, sometimes together -- what does it mean? My guess is that the kundalini/spiritual energy is finally rising up the chakras but is meeting resistance in the specific chakras mentioned (third eye, crown) and the throbbing is just the energy trying to clear out all the crud in it. Anyway, it seems like we're making progress, I'm happy for you Redline Last edited by ethereal : 03-10-2007 at 04:55 PM. |

| Not sure how to explain this properly, but when you get to that chakra focus more on the middle or back of your head, not directly between your eyebrows. Notice the difference and report back. We'll go from there.

| Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I would like to say that the same thing happens to me. However, it does not occur during meditation (I don't meditate). It has happened to me since the age of 14. During my teens, I would feel a sort of tingling, tickly feeling on the centre of my forehead just above my nose, sort of like what it would feel like if someone was pressing the area with their fingers. This happened every night nearly just before I went to sleep. It happened even after I left home and lived in different houses. Now I am in my mid-20s, I don't get it so much, but I still do sometimes, on and off. For example, the other day I was sitting reading a book and I started to get the tingling feeling. I should probably say that I started "hearing" jumbled up, incomplete sentences in my head at the same time. Anyway, I see there are other threads on this topic and I will read with interest. I have asked people in my family if they ever get this, and no one does, so it is nice to find that other people have the same experience. |

| Hmm...since this thread was bumped I had thought of posting about this too a while ago but since I experience a tingling sensation except at the top of my head like where the crown I think is located. It's on/off also seemingly of its own volition. & it's a tingly sensation kind of feeling prickly right where my hair sprouts on the top of my head. Anyways. I haven't the slightest clue what it is but hmm I will say I didn't notice it until after my first spiritual experience a few years ago so I would venture to say it was a result of that experience. I guess tingly sensations have to do with the chakras being active?? That's my theory.

| Hehe, I think so. I think the Kundalini energy is clearing out all the crap in the nadis (subtle energy channels) in the subtle energy bodies, that have been latent up till now. The tingling is just the energy coursing through the channels/chakras, and the nervous system getting used to the increased energy load. |

| I feel the need to share my own experiences regarding this sensation. I try not to over analyze things and simply experience them. I apologize ahead of time for the long story, but it just seems relevant. This experience was significant for three reasons. It was the first time that I had asked for a guide. It was the longest experience that I had. And it awakened my psychic faculties for the first time. When I first began my session it was around 10:00PM I spent the first couple of hours yo-yoing in and out of my body. At one point I almost felt like giving up but I didn't. Eventually I began what felt like a steady upward climb of sorts. By this I mean I kept leaving my body over and over again and each time I was in a lighter vibrational level of the astral. This first time this happened I walked out of my bedroom and into the living room to find someone that I did not recognize sitting there "watching television". He looked to be about my age or slightly younger. I was confused. I said, "Who are you?" He smiled really big and laughed and said "I'm your roommate!" (The interesting thing is that I did not have a roommate at the time and I had absolutely no plans to have one. I enjoyed the peace and solitude of living on my own. Less than one year later someone I worked with pulled me aside and asked if he could live with me until he could get his own place because he was getting a divorce.) I said, "I don't even know who you are. Maybe I'm in an alternate reality." He laughed and told me that I was always saying things like that and that I just needed to relax. I immediately found myself back in bed but not really in my physical body. This same scenario happen again a few more times and each time it was slightly different and involved other people that I did not recognize. The final time this happened, the original person was in my living room again and this time I asked him if he was my guide. He then smiled and changed into a much older looking man and said to me that he was wondering when I was going to catch on. Everything around us began to melt away and I found myself standing next to him in this infinitely huge field of bight green grass and golden sunlight. There were people everywhere moving about and doing different things. Some where just relaxing on blankets like they were picnicking in a park. All around us there were all manner of things. I mean this quite literally. For example I saw a water tower but when I really looked at it I could actually see the evolution of the concept of the water tower from the most primitive concepts to futuristic looking designs that I did not recognize but I knew that they were all different versions of the same basic thing. This effect applied to everything around us. All around us I saw things that ranged from extremely familiar to completely unknown to me. There were even things that looked like robotic birds made completely of metal that flew past us from time to time. Finally, I asked my guide "What is this place?" He told me that I was looking at pure thought energy. He said that everything that has ever been imagined or potentially will be imagined exists here. He said that occasionally when these thoughts are fully realized that they protrude into what we call the "physical" world. He said that the physical world was only the tip of this iceberg and that this was what lay beneath it. He said that it was the energy substructure of reality. He also said that there are many things that are never fully actualized into the physical universe and that they remain at this energy level of reality. All throughout this experience I was also fully aware of my physical body and I could feel and control its breathing. I was experiencing a split consciousness. I also began to feel an intense pressure sensation in my brow. When I returned to my body the sensation was still there and it has been active in varying degrees ever since. Every few months I would experience an increase in the intensity of this sensation. I would be lying in bed on my back meditating and go slightly out-of-body. The sensation would intensify to the point of being painful beyond any description of normal physical pain. I felt like the very fabric of my being was burning with blindingly intense energy. It would be so intense that I would cry out during the astral projection experience, saying things like "Make it stop! Please, make it stop! It hurts too much!" Then I would suddenly return to my body and the sensation would be closer to normal but a bit stronger. I refer to it as the third eye sensation and it accompanies my ability to perceive the higher energy levels. After this began and I started exploring my psychic abilities. I noticed that I could see things in the ripples within my minds eye like images floating to surface of a pot of boiling water. Over time my abilities grew and I began helping others to open to this "third eye sensation". I did so because I felt compelled to help others to awaken to their psychic potential. So, for several years now that is what I have been doing. I finally decided to begin writing about it recently because I felt that I had much to share about the subject. Now, along with the brow pressure, I feel the same sensation in the top of my head and temples simultaneously. I can make the sensation come and go just by willing it with my thoughts.
