Freeloaders!

I am hoping for some help. I have been in communication with someone very dear to me I will call "D" who died earlier this year. Our communication has been getting stronger and stronger and I talk to him quite a bit. Before this, I had never had any experience with speaking to someone deceased. I guess I am "clair-audient", because I actually hear him speak to me. Its partly heard through my ears and partly in my mind. Its hard to explain. (Actually I asked him how he speaks to me, and he said "I dont speak to you". So I asked how I was hearing him, and he answered "You hear my thoughts on your eardrums". Interesting as I always get a high pitched ringing, and pressure in my ears when I am talking with him.)

My problem is, I seem to have some other "freeloaders" trying to horn in and talk to me while I am talking to D. Other spirits that I dont know and sometimes I answer them as if they were D, without realizing its not him, and then next thing you know he is saying "who are you talking to?", because he doesnt hear them. I feel a bit bad if other spirits want to talk to me, but honestly I am not ready to talk to a lot of others right now, I just want to focus on improving my ability to speak to D (I have contacted and spoken to a few other people of my own choosing).

How can I block out unwanted spirits? I dont want to be rude, but its really disconcerting when it happens and when I realize I have been speaking to someone else when I thought it was D. Sometimes its obvious when its another spirit, such as when I had the man literally yelling at me "I need you to help me find my son" over and over again. Other times its subtle and I dont realize its a different spirit til after we have been talking for a bit and then I suddenly realize that it isnt D.

I am very new at all this so I would really appreciate some advice and guidance from Erin or anyone else who is experienced at this sort of thing.

eeeep Tola! Tola! You can't be open 24/7. That's gonna drain you dry and tax your energy. You really shouldn't be conversing with the same dead person constantly. it's like opening your door and letting all the bugs in. You gotta only talk to your dead friend in your sacred space, under the care and guidance of your conduit guide who will prevent the riff raff from violating your space and jumping up and down to get your attention. It's like finding out you have telepathy and suddenly hearing everyone's thoughts whether you want to or not. close the door, or at least put the screen door up.

You say you hear a high pitched ringing? I get that a lot and it's usually after I've been wondering something for a while or when I'm doing something I'm not sure I should be doing (like playing video games instead of a visualization practice, etc). I've assumed that it was tinnitus but it's usually in both ears and accompanied with the sensation of being really tall or the feeling of being in front of myself.

Sorry, I don't mean to derail your post Tola, it's just this was in the back of my mind as I was reading. I don't really have any 'direct' experience with guides or psychic phenomena, besides seeing auras around bugs, sometimes translucent energy coming off of my arms/hands, or just general intuitive nudges.


Your connection with D is strengthening, is this accompanied with an increase in your ability to control what you're "tuned into"? Maybe you can have D have a certain signature or idea associated with him that you can channel your focus at while synchronously "pinging" him? That tactic is a shot in the dark, because I'm not really experienced in this area, although I intend to be.

You're clairaudient, you say? This is intriguing, because audio plays a big part in my experience. I'm an auditory/verbal learner and one of the only 'real' experiences with the chakras that I've had is with the cyan/throat chakra (which is associated with sound & communication), which was during my Polyphasic Sleep trial. This chakra is usually spinning for me as I like to yapyapyap (as you can tell by this post). I'm wondering if you too are this way, with the propensity to relate to information by recalling audio clips in your mind?

Yikes, I have been "open" to him 24/7 all right. We speak on and off all throughout the day. Its quite nice really because its like he is keeping me company. This morning it was quite funny because as I was getting ready to jump in the shower I heard him say "I like the way you look naked" and I had to laugh. But I guess I need to develop some kind of control, as you say, so as not to let other spirits in when I am with him. I have a lot to learn about all this, obviously.

Another interesting thing that happens is that he touches me. I will feel a sensation like a feather brushing across my hand or face and I automatically go to scratch because it tickles, and he has told me that its him doing it, and now every time he touches me and I reach for the spot he tells me that is the exact place he touched me. He says that he touches other people too, his mother and other family and friends, he can be with them and see them and touch them like this but no one else but me can hear him speak, although he can hear what they are saying.

Makes me wonder how many people are being visited by their deceased loved ones who are trying to speak to them, and are touching them like that, and they dont even realize it. I asked him how he touches me and said he just thinks of the place where he wants to touch me and I feel it.

This has been an exciting adventure for me and I truly am enjoying it!

Tola, one thing you need to be aware of is that you are holding the door open for him and he is hovering becasue of it, potentially ignoring what he needs to be doing on the other side. it can be tricky because you want contact, and he probably enjoys the interaction, but you may be doing him a disservice by tethering his energy to you. The dead are dead for a reason. He's got things to do on the other side.

Well I have to say in the past days since my last post here all hell has broken loose. Here is what happened. I had noticed in my conversations with "D" that sometimes he sounded a bit different, more immature, petulant, whiney, which seemed a bit odd to me, but I thought maybe people just changed when they died. On Friday I was talking to him and then a bit later when I spoke to him again he asked who I had been talking to. He said he could hear me but couldnt get thru to speak to me, and that it had happened a number of times before. For the first time it really dawned on me that one of the "freeloaders" had been masquerading as D and pretending to be him, for I dont know how long. I confronted him with this fact the next time I heard his voice (at that point I realized how obvious it was, the difference in their voices) and from that point forward everything fell apart. Once he knew that I knew the truth, he became angry and resentful and began to torment me horribly, calling me all sorts of names, talking to me incessantly, telling me he was going to kill me, demanding I kill myself. It was HORRIBLE. Thank GOD I found a wonderful woman locally who was able to see me Saturday morning and help me through it. She taught me how to raise my vibration, how to protect myself, to connect with my higher self, to seek help from the proper sources and how to work through this. It is an ongoing process and I am working on it and in the meantime I have had to shut off all incoming messages until I rid myself of this very nasty ghost. I wanted to post this as a warning to anyone else who may be developing a newly discovered abilitiy, please be aware that opening yourself up like I did, unprotected and unknowing, can allow all sorts of low-level and negative entities into yourself. Please seek professional guidance and training before you go any further. I wish I had done so before it came to this. This has been a really scary experience for me and I wouldnt want anyone else to go through it. I feel a sense of empowerment now that I know how to deal with it, but I realize also that I have a long way to go. And I have a whole new respect and appreciation for for people that have mastered these abilities and are able to help and guide people like me.

Public service announcement for everyone... playing with the other side when you are not trained and prepared can lead to disastrous results. Just becuase you hear knocking doesn' tmean you should open the door. Be safe out there.

Erin more than anything right now, what I want is to learn as much as possible. Do you recommend any books that would be helpful? Its hard to know where to start. I want to learn as much as I possibly can about this new ability of mine so that I can use it properly and without being afraid of something going wrong again. The person who helped me during my crisis is extremely busy and I cant keep running to her for help and answers. I feel an intense need to educate myself so that I can further my abilities and learn to develop them and use them again without fear. Ultimately I would like to be able to use this ability of mine to help others, but right now I just really need to help myself.
