Default Does permanantly altering your body in any way lower your vibration?

Like plastic surgery or surgery of any kind, tattoos piercings etc...

Erin, anyone, thoughts on this?

I don't think alterations inherently lower your vibration, but they can often be signs of a lower vibration, and keep you vibrating at a lower resolution.

For instance, if you're feeling bad and you use plastic surgery to feel better, perhaps you'll rely on the alteration to make you feel better rather than addressing the underlying issue or building the inner resources to feel good regardless of what you look like.

Or, you might be feeling good on purpose, and simply CHOOSE that same plastic surgery, not relying on it to make you feel better. (Although I must admit it's a bit hard for me to imagine choosing elective surgery just for fun.)

The trick is being self-aware enough to notice the difference.

I would agree with Angela, she was straight on with what she said. That being said, I have another point of view to offer due to my years of being around Vegas night life. Sometimes certain tattoos, piercings, surgery's, and even make up styles can put you in a certain setting or view point that could cause other people to view you at a lower vibration even if you do not.

If you are strong enough to not let other peoples' view points to affect you, positive or negative, then your fine, but if you are not strong enough to detach from what other people think about you then it will lower your vibration. My 14 year old is going through this now at school with various make up styles, and is beginning to see how not to let people's mean comments bother her.

Also, on a spiritual level, IMO, the more toxic your body, the more toxic your vibration becomes. Kind of like a vacuum cleaner, the more clogged it gets, the worse it works. Pick wisely on anything you do when it comes to your body and mind!!

I never felt a difference in vibration when i had piercings. I only kept the ears pierced (used to have eyebrow + tongue a few years ago). I've had a tattoo for six years and i don't think my tattoo lowers my vibration either. It's right on my orange chakra, and i know from chakra drowsing/reiki that that chakra is fine .

I wouldn't worry too much if i were you. You choose how you want to feel and you choose how high your vibrations can be , regardless of bodily aesthetic work.

Default Changing your body can be a spiritual experience

This thread caught my eye as someone who has radically altered his body, so I wanted to weigh in.

I think it can actually raise your vibration. It can take a lot of courage to choose to permanently alter your body. If someone is doing that consciously, I think that is all that matters. It's empowering to actually take control over your body and own it and transform the physical into what you spirit wants it to be.

It also seems like the underlying theme of the discussion is that bodies don't matter or are secondary to the non-physical. One of my favorite quotes is on this topic:

"Even though the physical is not as real, so to speak, as the non-physical, it is, nonetheless, the lowest, densest projection of spiritual matter, and, therefore, it must be honored. It must be honored. The body needs rest, and it needs care, but behind every aspect of the health or illness of the body is the energy of the soul." --Gary Zukov, The Seat of the Soul

Our bodies our own to do with what we wish. We are not limited by what we were born with.

I think it could affect your vibration if you had it done and then grew to a level where you don't agree with the alterations any more.

I agree with Noah in that they can help raise your vibration, but only if you're in a pit of self-loathing. I remember being like that in my teen years. I didn't get any alterations of any kind but I did think I had to have a lot of external stuff (games console, fame, lots of friends and a MySpace) in order to be happy. After I got them, I was able to raise my vibration further to the point where I can now agree with the idea that you don't necessarily need those things to be happy.
