Loved the post Erin, very informative. We really don't know how things work on the other side or what 'rules' spirits must adhere to when communicating with the living. It makes sense that spirits wouldn't be able to communicate in plain language so must figure out how to do it energetically or some other way (sending smells, images, etc). The famous medium John Edward wrote in one of his early books that he and his mother agreed on a code word before she died that she would deliver to him to let him know she's okay. Though he has communicated with her on several occasions she never has given him that word they agreed on. I'm not sure if that's changed by now or not, but I always thought that was interesting. I'd be very curious to know how many deceased spirits actually hang around the earthly plain for a while before they cross over. Do most souls stick around at least long enough to attend their own funerals, or do most cross over right away? I suppose there's no way to really know that statistic unfortunately. I'm sure it also depends on the person's age, state of mind at the time of death, the circumstances of the death, and the person's individual beliefs about the afterlife. I attended a funeral about a week ago and found myself just fascinated by the possibility of the deceased person being present in spirit form with no one there knowing it. I spoke to the person in my mind as if she was present, sending her love and support and reminding her to call on her angels to help with her next step. It felt good! Since I do this work professionally I'm usually honing and sharpening daily. For someone who isn't doing this work professionally I'd say 30 minutes a day doing something that increases your intuition and connection would be satisfactory.

Hello Erin, very interesting entry you made here. (just a quick presentation) I'm a person who made a quick contribution to this message bard a few years ago, under a less than positive login name and in less than positive circumstances. So I switched and it's a new one. However I never stopped reading your new blog entries for the last 2 years, just quietly reading and never opening my mouth. Today I meant to ask you a question since you came up with the idea in this blog entry. You talk about quantum physics and its relationships with your... shall we say... area of expertise. Will you ask [whoever it may concern But it'd be good to have your intuitions on that. Keep up the good work! |

I have seen old radios that has been modified and using static stations to give the spirit a way to communicate. To the point where the family could hear the voice of the spirit through the radio (even though it was not the actual voice of the person since the radio became like a new vocal chords for the spirit) Not sure of the specific details on how to accomplish this. But when the family was on tv they were telling everybody how to do this with a typical radio. I am sure if you research you will get the instructions

Well, I took one, and felt a LOT better! I did not ask. I just felt like I had resolved something important for her, and let it go. It was just a win/win situation, all around. | |

Hi Erin, just curious but what about in the astral or in a lucid dream? Could your spirit guides or a deceased relative communicate with you clearly and directly as though they were talking to you in the physical?

| I've had great success communicating with deceased people in lucid dreams so yeah potentially they could pass me a word and I would hear it clearly. On the astral plane would be vastly tougher as then even I don't have vocal cords.

There are no vocal cords on the astral plane because those are in the body, not the soul. You communicate on the astral using the same mechanism you'd use in a dream. In a dream, you're not using your real eyes, ears or vocal cords either. Yet you are able to communicate as if you are. Think about it. |

| really? I thought that after they die, dead ppl go to the ether and I thought the ether and the astral plane were the same thing? What's the difference between the two? If they can't appear in the astral, then how do they appear in dreams? btw, this is really interesting stuff! :-)

the astral plane is different than the ether. The ether is more like another dimension, let's call it the 4th dimension. I see the astral plane as a dimension between here and there. Sort of a highway connecting the two.

| Interesting, are the ether and astral plane similar in their physics and energy? By the way, how come alot of ppl consider dreams as happening in the astral? As I understand it, dreams and even lucid dreams to them are just projections of your mind on the astral plane. Am I right in saying that the astral plane has a different energy to it, much more clear than a lucid dream right?
