Erin's Shutdown in 3...2...1...

While I still have converns about the ability for the community here to survive, I'll openly admit that this was a really dumb post.

Let this be a lesson to you. Do not read forums after a very late evening that involved consumption of a certain beverage known to assist in the lessening of good judgment....but I blame Steve a little :D

Thanks to Steve for being good-natured about it.

While I find Felipe's post funny, he is correct in his sentiment. I'll leave it to moderators as to whether this post stay or not.

You still need to chill. ;)

Not me. The glass is half full;)

You may want to guess again who's at risk of going bye bye in 3...2...1... ;)

Felipe 10-26-2009 07:04 AM

I think this thread is very disrespectful and I vote to have it deleted.

Beuford 10-26-2009 07:59 AM

If you didn't understand it the first time, or if you haven't read it, you might want to read Steve's blogpost on this. And I'll just note here that what they don't share with us is not necessarily our business.

We can vote to change stuff!?

I vote to change the forum background to include pink unicorns. (Pink unicorns are the prettiest unicorns.)

You must be in my head....pink unicorns were dancing when I typed this post up ;)

JoeRad 10-26-2009 11:34 AM

However

I did want to extend my thoughts to Erin. May everything work out for you and your children.

Pink fluffy unicorn dragons!

Alfonso Crawford 10-26-2009 04:23 PM

This needs more MANLINESS.

Pink, fire-breathing unicorns! Engaged in battle! Against an army of barbarian dragon-men, each wielding a sword from the same forge as Excalibur!

Heh, wtf thread? lol

Anyway, as to the subject at hand...

IMO, it seems to me (an outsider looking in) that the best thing for both parties involved here (Steve and Erin) WOULD involve moving Erin's stuff to her own site.

It sort of reminds me of when I first separated from my ex and how she thought that we should share vehicles (because we only had one set of car seats for the kids). I knew, however, that that wouldn't be a good thing for either of us in terms of "moving on." So I told her that it'd be in our best interests if we each took one vehicle and made it our own (and that I would buy my own carseats for the kids).

That was definately a decision I do not regret at all. I couldn't imagine sharing a vehicle at this point.

And I think the same thing sort of applies here. I think that while you guys are amicable, you should make the break "clean" (so to speak) so that you can each have your own individual lives separate from each other which will save you a lot of headaches down the road.

Basically, I'm saying that Erin should start her own boards where her blog posts can go. Plus, honestly, I think that boards centered around Erins blog could be pretty cool actually. It's definately a whole different branch from what Steve's site is about and I think it could be pretty successful.

Oh, yeah, that forum would definitely take on a different flavor, separate from Steve's site!

That'd be interesting, to see how it developed.

:( I don't want a new forum to log in to. I'm quite happy having all the personal development discussion in one place.

Personal Development and Divorce don't belong in the same sentence unless it's coming from your therapist. The site will have to be renamed "Personal Development for regular people". But I guess one will argue that being committed to a personal bond goes far beyond mental but rather emotional development.

Hey a new area of your life to work on Mr.P

Brutha 10-27-2009 03:12 PM

Just because Steve and Erin divorce doesn't mean that they hate each other or even that they can't stay friends or business partners.
For the near future the forums will stay together.

Yeah, that being the keywords.

It was good while it lasted, and I got alot out of this community, but the old axiom about all good things ending seems to hold true.

Personally, I think this could actually be a good thing.

It may lead to, as I said above, Erin kicking off her own forums and expounding into areas of psychic and spiritual development. Which I think compliments personal development pretty nicely.

Erin Pavlina 10-27-2009 05:33 PM

For the time being I wouldn't worry about where the forums are going. We have a lot of stuff to work out and we need time to see what to keep and what to remove. I thinnk our time can be better spent on other things. Move along, nothing to see here. ;)

st33med 10-27-2009 05:47 PM

"3...2...1..."
*click*
"... Steve, did you set up the C4 properly?"
"What C4?"
"Jesus, you were supposed to blow up the server so that Erin's subforum will not display!"
"Won't that destroy my forum as well?"
"...Uhh..."

:)

Daffy Duck 10-27-2009 08:20 PM

Erin posted what I was thinking... who cares? For now, at least. The forums are a small issue (relatively) that will be worked out in the future.

IFeelGood 10-27-2009 11:45 PM

Erin,
You have shown much strength, love and warmth on this forum. It would never be the same without you. One thing for sure, the world needs warm compassionate people like you and I hope that whatever you choose to do, you still have an opportunity to share it somewhere.

All the best in your new and greatly improved life!!
