Erin - You were in my dream but not sure what it means..

Let me preface this by sharing some info... I had a reading with you about a year and 1/2 ago. During the reading I asked about my spirit guides. I had read so many different descriptions of others spirit guides I was really hoping to get a clearer picture since searching for information about this is what led me to your blog in the first place. You told me that they said connecting with my guides is not on my path in this life. I really felt kind of like the wind had been let out of my sails. I had just started doing meditaions to try and connect not too long before I got the reading. So, not only did I not get a description I was kind of left feeling like I was at a stand still on my spiritual learning/growth. Bummed is the best way to describe it.


So yesterday I read one of Anna Conlan's articles, "5 Tips & Insights to Help you Work with Your Spirit Guides" and I had the following dream last night:

I called you and explained to her the information from the reading and asked why the my guides do not want me to connect. The dream changed to you being with me in person standing in front of a large brick building, there were people all around. She said to me, "well, let's just ask them". I now see you sitting down Indian style across from an empty yellow pillow. Apparently there is someone on the pillow that I cannot see. You look at me and ask me to sit on the pillow. The first thing you ask me is who is watching my children? ( i think you actually asked me this in my reading too) I told you it was their great-aunt, you hesitated and then said, "no, she's ok... let me find out why they are asking". You started talking again to someone but the dream changed again. We were standing in front of the brick building, you were telling me that I was 11 in my last life when I died?? While we are talking there is a young boy, maybe 8 - 10 trying to get something out of my pockets. I keep shooing him away but he finally grabs something and runs. You tell me to make sure I go get the receipts he grabbed and I do. I think I get 2 of the 3. As I'm chasing I notice out of my peripheral vision that David Hasselhoff (like he looked in Knight Rider ) was standing across the street. The dream scene changed again and I was looking for you to thank you.

I'm just not sure if this is a completely random dream or if there is any meaning in it. Obviously this was on mind yesterday after reading the article. Is this the only reason for having the dream? I did wake up right after the dream; it was 3:15am. I got up and wrote everything down and couldn't go right back to sleep.

Erin, or anyone else have any insight?

Since Erin hasn't responded to this yet. I thought I'd share this with you.

I used to belong to a list group and one of the people there was told the same thing. There were also told that in this life they were here to develop their own abilities like their intuition, whatever ESP abilities they had, the ability to go within and find the answers they sought from within themselves instead of from guides or somebody else. Learning to interpret your dreams might be a good place to begin.

This person was told that sometimes people's guides become a crutch and sometimes we need to learn to stand on our own two feet and learn to do things for ourselves.

Hi Angie,

What Teresa says is interesting and got me thinking along those lines too.

Intuition and psychic information comes from many sources and spirit guides is just one of them. You can also get guidance from your higher self and for some people, it seems like that's the source that's most helpful because it comes from inside you. Maybe inner authority and listening to yourself (rather than more 'external' sources like spirit guides) is something you are learning right now?
