But what do you have to say, Erin, on a particular comment by someone on the Is There Life After Death thread:

I believe death is the end of everything, and our "soul" is nothing more than some extraneous neuronic connections. Animals have got fewer of them, therefore they concentrate only on basic needs. However, human beings enjoy the luxury to focus on some non-essential concepts. That's it for me, nothing more. This does not say that life is not enjoyable: actually, this says that every day that passes must be fully enjoyed, because eventually my friend, there's nothing out there.

After reading your blog entry on the topic, I had to say I was really relieved and assured that on the very day I left my cocoon that is my body behind, there'll be a conscious road laid ahead of me and I could go on to explore the unknown... the infinite possibilities...

But I was really really put off by this comment and I'm suffering from severe thanatophobia right now.

Never fear something you can't control. If nothing is what awaits you, you won't care. If there is life after death, you'll be just fine. Either way, nothing to fear now.

But do you still maintain your stand and belief in life after death?

Of course. But I've experienced what it's like to be a soul without a body, a consciousness floating around the ether. Once you have an experience like that, you don't question it. But I know not everyone has had that experience.

Do you think that other people have that particular experience? Have you had any recurring experiences involving the Sprit Guide?

Yes, quite a few people have had that experience. No, it will not help you one bit if you don't want to believe it, or are too afraid to embrace the possibility.

If you want to see it, you will find dozens of articles on Erin's website about these things, and you will also find several reports by other people in this forum.

If all you think is "humbug", though, not a million stories by others will convince you.

Quiet the mind. Listen for the truth. It's already there.

Erin, I hate to sound like a skeptic, but how do you know you aren't lucid dreaming when you astral project?

I think it's a cool idea, but I can't just go around believing everything, so I had to ask that question.
