I would also highly recommend using TIME Techniques -- forensic regression -- to access unconsciously stored information. It's very effective.

Erin Pavlina 06-11-2009 04:58 PM

Yes, wonderful! Many many techniques. If anyone has used other methods, share them here.

You could have included muscle testing. It is similar to the pendulum but you can do it either holding your arm out and having someone push it down in response to a question, or do it with your fingers.

Applied kinesiology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I actually did this just last night/today with some cds that were MIA. I knew there were in my car somewhere, looked and looked. Did some muscle testing with my fingers, are they in my car, true. are they in my apt. false. are they at work. false.

I got in my car this morning and reached back to a pile of stuff in the back seat and pulled them out like i knew where they were all along. That might be part Claircognizance as well.

Loved the humour in this post Erin!

But it does give me something valuable to think about too... I have this thing about 'losing my purse'... seems to happen pretty often. I never considered there could be any significance other than carelessness. Now... is it the money in the wallet, or the identification I might be trying to lose... lol. It's likely the credit cards. :D

And now I want to lose something so I can try out the pendulum. Or maybe I should be careful what I wish for!

Stacey, in the meantime while you're waiting to lose something, you might want to try using your pendulum to raise your metabolism.

It's fun, you may feel the results immediately (I got very hot when I tried it), and it's a great way to practice being in rapport with your unconscious mind, which is a very useful practice!

Lose pounds, not purses. :D

Great article Erin!

The article brings up an interesting question that I would like to see more articles about. How would you be able to easily discern if you have some of the abilities you've outlined here? Some of them like using a pendulum are relatively straightforward and anyone can gain proficiency in using them. Others like clairvoyance are more difficult to distinguish.

Maybe if you're asking the question of if you have a specific ability, you don't have it. :D Any suggestions on this are always welcome.

I definitely would need to write a book. I should get on that. This whole psychic development thing has so many layers. Perhaps a weekend workshop would suffice.

Ceiling cat... hysterical!

Weren't your guides saying at the last conference you went to that the next time one was available you'd be presenting? ;)

This might be your opportunity.

I also have some notes from Arielle Ford about books that might be useful. If I can find them and the time to write them out, I'll post them or send them along if you wish.

The first bit of advice reminded me a lot of something I read in "The Art of Spiritual Dreaming" by Harold Klemp, where he describes interpreting "real-life" situations as if they were like dream symbols to be interpreted. I don't usually go for subjectivism, but I love dreams, so I thought that was a realy interesting perspective.

The technique I use, that a friend of mine taught me:
1. Visualize the lost item, as clearly as you can.
2. Visualize a string made of golden light, one end tied around the object.
3. Feel or visualize a length of that same string in your hand.
4. Open your eyes and start "pulling" on the string. I make physical motions in the air of reeling it in, which looks silly but it works.
5. Follow your gut feeling as you follow and reel in this "string".

It sometimes leads me all over the places that I left the item, but works out in the end most of the time.

Erin Pavlina 06-12-2009 02:57 AM

That's really neat, Albalida. Thanks for sharing another technique.

I recently lost my usb flash drive. I tried to meditate and asked where it was. I got some pictures on where it could be, even thought it was not so vivid. All I got that it dropped into someones bag while I was in the library, trying to grab a plastic bag for my books. While the person had a bag in the floor. It told me it is still in the library and I haven't gone yet to library but tomorrow I'm going to go. Hopefully it is at the library, because usually the mental images that I been getting about other things seem to be accurate.

This was an awesome post, thanks Erin! I love these methods to tune into the subconscious mind or the universe to find things. I also agree that if you loose certain things it may mean something, even just that you perhaps need to change your attitude about something. Perfect example is losing your wallet at home because you are not careful where you put it. What does this say about your money habits?

I once read something about power words, where you say a word to yourself that has a big effect on the unconscious. I think the one for finding was "Reach". Does anyone know more about this?

HCDorset 06-12-2009 05:01 AM

Hey I really enjoyed that article thank you Erin

interesting wrt pendulums (pendula?) I've had extremely clear answers to yes/no questions at certain times, especially when I feel I am in a good space energy-wise.

However, a few times I've asked a pendulum a 'burning question' about myself and had no response I could read. At the time I believed that was because I either had no skill at this or because the whole pendulum thing was possibly nonsense. I now think it may have been that the questions I was asking either
1. I was not supposed to know the answer to at that time
2. My conscious brain was into questioning but some other part of my subconscious/higher self did not want that question answered, probably for my own learning or benefit.
3. My energy was in a poor place when I tried it.

One of the craziest things I saw was after a reiki session I exited the treatment room via a place where there were pendulums. For a laugh I picked one and started asking random questions. The answers were so definite and distinct there was no doubt it was a useful technique.

On a cautionary note I have come across a number of people who carry a pendulum around and dowse everything in sight - it's as though they can't see or make a decision without one. It's their choice of course but I really like the other ways of listening to our subconscious discussed here as they are more direct and based on feelings/senses.

I've never had any luck at all with pendulums (or tarot cards, for that matter), but I have had excellent results with the "hotter or colder" thing. I don't actually feel physically hotter or colder, but it's like that game you play as a kid, where someone hides something and then you go looking for it and they say "Getting warmer... getting warmer... cooler..." and so on until you zero in on it.

Yes, I am clairsentient, for what it's worth. :)

I might try the "future self" thing, though. There are a few things I'd be very interested to hear from my future self... Like, say, winning lottery numbers.... ;) (Not that I EVER know what the winning lottery numbers were or are; perhaps I should start to take note and write them down so that in the future I'll know and be able to ask myself? Tee hee! Possibilities are amusing ;))

Erin,

It seems to be that 50% of the time when I ask my guides to help me find some lost item they very sagely (or, I'd say, rather cheekily) suggest that perhaps what is lost is something that I no longer need. They tell me to look at what I lost and the timing of it's loss for deeper meaning. ;-) LOL!

That being said, I generally find that, rather than memory loss on my part, it is playful behavior on the part of elementals (ie. fairies, gnomes, earth sprites etc.)

One method that I have learnt which often helps bring an item back is to walk in a counter-clockwise circle three times, stomping my feet and saying very loudly: Return my item to me now. Return my item to me now. Return my item to me now.

The strength of your will, your firm intention that something return to you, is the key component.

It helps to say the name of the actual item, lest the tricky little beings return something that they absconded with months ago, that you no longer need and have forgotten all about.

velvet1 06-23-2009 02:30 AM

Just wanted to say that I did get my usb flash drive, it was innately found at the library that I went that day. My advice is to probably meditate with a crystal, I think it helps.

joylangtry 07-01-2009 12:06 PM

I don't think of things as lost, merely misplaced.

I typically find the last thing I misplaced while looking for the next thing I misplaced.

Makes it kinda fun!

A colleague, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, introduced me to St. Anthony. You make the request, "St.Anthony, St.Anthony, please come around. I've lost my _________ and it can't be found."

You say that with trust and let it go. My partner and I have found everything that's been lost for all those years, except one thing. I once lost my work keys and never found them....

Everything else we find, sometimes is in a place we already looked. Sometimes it is in a bizarre place that we would never look, like eye glasses or keys in the winter clothes cupboard, but happen to see. Sometimes we just have an idea. Just this Friday, I had lost my license and ID about 4 days earlier, and asked my partner, "Well, if you picked it up for me, where would you put it?" She had her purse in her hand and said, "back here in the zipped compartment..." and that's where it was.

From your list, I guess my colleague passed along her guide?

Hi

Hi every one. I came across this place in search of help. My twin sister can't find her mobile phone. She had last used it on Feb 16 09.
I am in search of some one generous in time and mind to help her find it. She is really unhappy.
The worst part is that our parents don't know yet!
Please help.

I am an identical twin sister. I am emotionally conscious of other people's feelings and thoughts as my sister is. We have a gift with seeing through peoples exterior mask. We often dream of future events that sometimes come true. We are able to sense a death by randomly crying all of a sudden.
We have been together since birth until university. We are still in university and we plan on being together for as long as God allows us to be.
We love animals and are affectionate and loving people.

Lost Earring - Please Help

On October 6 or 7th, I lost one of 2 diamond stud earrings at a small inn in Massachusetts. It has great sentimental value because it may be my engagement diamond (not sure if I lost the engagement diamond or the matching diamond). In any event, I am distraught over losing this. I have contacted the hotel, posted an ad on Craigslist, etc. I was wearing both on October 6th, took them out in the evening, put them both in the pouch (I thought), wore other earrings, and discovered one missing at my next destination later the following day.

Can someone please tell me if it is still at the hotel, stolen, on the bus (I was on an art tour), somewhere else, or with me in Maryland, and I have just misplaced it.
I will be happy to supply any additional information.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Lost Engagement Ring

Hello,

I was thinking about how you can find so much online so I thought let me type in "How to find Lost items", and came across Erin's site. Anyway this seems pretty cool and could be helpful! June 2, 2008 I was rushing around planting flowers and going to a little league game, but earlier I had gotten a call from my Stepmom that my Dad wasn't doing well and I should go and visit with him, this rattled me quite a bit. So I lost my engagement ring this day and have been trying to find it ever since. I could use some help if anyone could try to help me locate it that would be wonderful!:o

Thanks so much, Hopefull1111.

I heard of this method and tried it once, and ended up finding my dad with it! :D

Here it is:

1. Focus on finding what you need to find.
2. Look around with your eyes open and blinking slowly.
3. Tell yourself that when you look in the right direction, you will blink faster and faster.
4. Do it! Just look around blinking slowly until you start blinking faster.

I used this in a giant Fry's Electronics store to find my dad when I had no idea where he was. If you know Fry's, you know that it is even larger than a Wal-Mart Super Center. I just looked around blinking and walking for less than a minute and it led me straight to an aisle where I stopped, and was like "now what?" when all of a sudden, my dad walked by at the end of the aisle!

It was awesome :D

I may be wrong...but I got the sense that it's in the garbage? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's the word that came to me when I read your post. That doesn't mean I'm right though, I could be wrong.

I think your friend mindlessly threw it out with other paper that was rubbish and just didn't realize?

Jenn6 11-04-2010 09:09 PM

I tried remembering information about it and I vaguely remember my friend giving it back to me the next day, because she didnt use it. I checked with my sister and she said she remembered it too.

It is an A4 purple English "Letts" book. Any further help would be much appreciated

It's funny that you would post this in a thread which is encouraging people to find their own lost items using their own abilities!:p;)
