Default Guides and Names

Erin, in this post you say you don't get names of guides, except in very rare circumstances and that other psychics gave you numerous names for your guides. Would it be foolish then to ask psychics for names of guides? eg as confirmation that I'm not hallucinating and that the psychic is the real deal.

You also mentioned all your guides have names that you agreed upon; does it mean you suggest, and they agree?

To others who have successfully contacted their guides, did you similarly agree with your guides their names or were you given by them what to call them?

Cheers.

I think for the most part guides don't resonate with human language names. they are energetic beings, with an energy signature. They understand that we use names to identify the energy signature. Sometimes they will offer one and sometimes they will allow us to find one that we feel is appropriate.

Think of it like when you type a word document and you hit "save" and it suggests a title based on the first words you've typed, or you can override that and name the file anything you want.

I have just recently learned the name of my guide. I have not figured out if I named her or if it is a name she chose. But it happened. what I did was to begin some little communication, after months of work I have had some few nights in which I can vaguely listen to what they are saying. I started just recently so I hope to improve soon. But really, try some communication first, the name will come later. You might need help confirming, if you got some psychic friends it works but what I noticed is that the day after I figured the name out, there were some synchronizations i.e: name popped up in TV out of a sudden...

My guides have all come to me with their own names, not ones that I gave them. Though often the first few instances of them giving me their names is a bit changeable. In other words, they may say Brita one time and then Breedia the next, but once they get the sound to come into my consciousness correctly they will then stick to that name forever.

When I do readings, if a person's own guide comes through they will almost always give me their name. Many readings do not result in their personal guide speaking to me but instead are given by an ancient ancestor of the person or even by their partner's guide, or one of my own. But whenever I am speaking to an actual guide, I get a name.

Just as you change throughout the various phases of your life, so can your guides. We all have several guides, each with a different strength, intention or purpose. Once you get in touch with you primary guide, you may find other guides or names coming to you in the future when you need them.

I asked my reader if they could give me the names of my spirit guides, they said no; but one was male and one was female. Huh ?????? I thought spirits were non-gender specific.

Actually spirits do present as gender specific, depending on the type of spirit.

This is sometimes the spirit specifying a gender and sometimes the reader interpreting the overall "feel" of the spirit's energy.

It is only the most high-vibrational, ascended spirits that truly present as gender-neutral.

when I got in touch with a group of beings / guides and asked their name, they said Omega, which I feel refers more to their kind of vibration rather than an ordinary name such as Joe. From what I gather, there recognition happens by 'energetic fingerprints'.

i've always been 'hinted at' with the names of my guides.

i'll basically ask them their name.. and wait for it to come to me. at first i thought.. maybe its cause i like that name.. but i feel like they've chosen it to represent themselves to me. often because i'll be like 'really? that's your name?'

once i've gone through a random list of names and waited for them to give me a intuitional knudge so to speak of one that resonated with them.

but my friend who has a very clear connection with hers say they don't really have names.. but you can call them whatever you want.

Names, or words in general, resonate with you on some level. You connect emotions, whether you are aware of it or not, with words and sounds.

Your guides simply pick those names where your resonance/vibration about the word/sound best match their own vibration. So, to you the same entity may "Joe", to me it might be "Actinus", and a third person may approach it as something completely different because of the different attitude/emotions/vibrations involved between that name and ourselves.

Basically, names are a convention used to our benefit, because we have a tendency to put a tag on everything. Even if we were able to pick up the different vibrations of our guides, we couldn't communicate that to somebody else, so it's easier to give them names and talk about them as if they were regular human beings. You won't really make somebody completely understand "the guide that makes me feel such and such and has this and that vibration to him/her/it". But you can say "that's Joe, he helps me with xyz kinds of decisions".

That's how I see it.

In my last enty on this subject; I had just had a downtown reading and the reader, (a local gypsy) told me I had 2 guides, one male and one female.

about a month later I had a reading with a very well known Psychic who told me I had a guide named Hal and a guide name Hazel.

Pretty cool huh?

I agree with the other posters who said that spiritual names are more like energetic vibrational fingerprints. The vibration can be "translated" down to the human level which results in a sound that reflects that spirits energy intonation.

Could be "Ned" for short. Could be "Neeeeeddeeeezzzzbarrriiiaaaaaaaannnnnn" for long.
