i've heard many times that the reason we shouldn't have astral sex is because beings with lower vibrations can take our energy but something i've never found out is what negative effects can this have on us? also on a separate note i was wandering if an experience i had years ago was an astral projection, i was ill from school, i had a high fever and kept getting what i thought was pins and needles, i kept thinking i was getting up and kind of floating downstairs before realising i was still in bed, everything seemed so real and vivid

High fevers are often preludes to astral expereinces. But it could also have been a dream.

The answer to your question is yes! However both participants need to be receptive and you must understand that sex on the astral level is more of a meeting of energies, highly respectful and based on love, connection, honesty, trust and merging and emerging. So having a quickie with hot guy/girl who works in the local coffee shop ain't gonna happen! lol
I run tantric-guidance sessions and it is a similar situation. The couples sit across from each other and this is a great way for them to experience the others energy sexually without (the restriction of) physical touch. Once adept the "students" can then utilise the skills for greater distances and to hone their astral projection skills.

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the differences between astral sex and dream sex. The two are totally separate--astral sex involves objective (experience, not necessarily mental state) interaction with another, while dream sex is simply subjective fantasy or wish fulfillment.

The whole "lower level beings will drain my energy" idea is misguided. There are no victims--there are only those quite eager and willing to provide the intense pleasure of "energy balancing" to other willing participants who are actively seeking that pleasure.

Astral sex may be more appropriately described an energy transfer, rather than "sex." Just because it feels good, many tend to automatically interpret astral sex as sexual arousal and sexual gratification. It is not, although it can be--in most cases it is an almost instantaneous "balancing of energy."

Hmmm,
As someone who has had to deal with more astral sex than you can shake a stick at. I have some rather strong opinions about it based on experience.

I am not a Judeo/ Christian but it does say something in the Bible to the effect that if a man fornicates with a woman in his mind, it just as bad as doing it in person.

I have had many occasions to think about this line. I can meet a man for 2 minutes and end up being kept awake all night feeling like I am in bed with him. I see faces. I know who they are. I am psychic.

The bad part is that, if I don't want this situation I feel raped. It is that vivid.
If I do feel a mutual attraction and am single, it seems there must be mutual interest. This is not always the case. Some men I have found, can have outrageous time wasting fantasies about a woman and have no intention of taking it further. There seems to be NO consideration of the woman on the receiving end, and the emotional / psychic effects of this kind of psychic invasion.

When attractions have preceded deeper involvement -- even when they have not, but I am dealing with a decent guy -- they will readily admit to the astral sex when I sublty bring it up.

I had a guy overseas who was bombarding me with this stuff every time I sat down to meditate before my healing sessions with clients. One day he called to talk and I didn't have to say a word. He said "Oh my God you're psychic! You must think I'm some kind of pervert!" I asked him why was he doing it. He couldn't answer. THEN he tells me he thinks he's gay!!!!!!
I think he was just a big lousy energy vampire. What he did was siphon off my light -- but it didn't do anything for him and was very unfortunate for me.

All I have to say is don't just go around doing this stuff. It does have an effect on the other party whether you think it does or not, and for some of us, it can result in confusing and painful situations like feeling raped, or sexually/ emotionally abused.

Astral sex is sometimes so much better than the physical equivalent that it is a temptation to just go with it, especially when real,attraction is involved. When you are in love it is amazing and adds layers and depth to the relationship. But sex is a spiritual act and can bind and create deep DNA sharing. This is why a lot of spiritual people prefer monogamy. They can't handle all the DNA's clogging up their fields.

So it is not a childish issue at all, but a very serious one that can have far reaching consequences.

Its when you have sex out of body. You meet on the astral plane which is really the sub-lunar plane as the astral has to do with starry consciousness and this stuff is definitely lunar.

For me I have had to struggle all of my life to stay in my body which was really funny back in the 80's when so many spirirtual types were doing courses on how to get out of their bodies. For me everything has to be done backwards in these matters.
"Astral" sex is sex with someone out of body. Its really powerful and very easy to misuse.
I go out and about so easily that I have been caught in things I wasn't looking for.

To be candid, I used to wonder if I had been sexually abused as a child by a family member, but what I actually remember is not a physical molestation, but having the unfortunate psychic awareness that this person was fantasizing about me. I had it in dreams and it was pretty real. I think most of my sexual education was the result of dreams.

This is not conscious on the part of the fantisizer so you can't blame him per se. Its the downside of the psychic so-called "gift". When you are only a child it creates confusion for obvious reasons.

I probably told too much, but this is a very serious subject and it might help if people understood it.

It sounds like you went out of body for sure. I do that all the time. It used to happen sometimes that the I would hear the alarm clock go off, get up, take a shower, eat breakfast and hear the alarm go off again -- and find out I was still in bed! I guess that's how much I hate getting up in the morning.

Low vibrational beings drawing off your energy is a form of vampirism and is very dangerous to your health. You can have real physical pain from. I actually became anemic once because of this thing that was happening to me in London. Big ciites can be vampires just by being overcrowded and stressful. Then the energy sucking just adds to the stress.

Sensitive people need to live in nature with a good buffer of trees or something similar just for proetection.

I read about a dozen of websites on it after posting my question, and many of them seemed to describe the experience of guys who didn't seem particularly conscious (sorry for the label, I might be wrong, was just the sense I got from the excerpts I read) masturbating while getting into some kind of astral state and hitting on women there they were planning to chat up in real life later.

anyway, according to sylvia browne, she calls it merging. She explained it as, say in heaven two spirits decide to merge. Their two souls momentarily become one and they share each other's knowledge which is a mind expanding kind of experience, much better than physical sex. She never mentioned it with low vibrational beings as you said which would seem like a very strange learning experience, but there's an explanation to ponder.

sometimes when you feel disconnected like that you need to get your energetic body merged with your physical body. Work those chakras. Reconnect the energies. It's like the plugs are all coming out of the socket. Get em back in there.

yes. imagine your spine like a pole and let the chakras spin around them in clockwise fashion. In truth, you can spin them on any axis as long as you get them moving and in t heir right places it's all good.
