Hi everybody. You know the paranoia of leaving a child unsupervised in a place full of sharp objects? No responsible parent would do it. Well, that's how I feel about giving up control to my subconscious mind/intuition. I am worried that if I switch off all rationality, and allow myself to be guided by... whatever... then my life expectancy will drop dramatically. And for the people around me too! A part of me knows that I'm clinging on for dear life over an abyss when if I just let go I'd discover I can fly... but I'm too paralysed by mistrust that I won't. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated. Not sure what to do here. |

If you let your Higher Self guide you only good things will happen because you will get into the flow of life. It is only when you are guided by your logical mind and your ego that you get into trouble.

whoa, you don't have to turn off your rationality. my intuition and logic co-exist peacefully. Even my ego gets his turn. My general rule of thumb is to hear what the intuition says, then run it past my logic detectors, and check in momentarily with my ego. Make sure everyone is happy. In time you'll find that your intuition steers you in directions your logic can't, and usually with better results. Don't throw the logic out with teh bath water. You can have both. |

Like Erin said, turning off logic is a big no-no. I look at it like this: faith is the evidence of things unseen, but if I never see anything then I've $%^*ing lost it. If you wanna learn to trust yourself start with something that isn't life altering. Maybe let your intuition guide you toward your favorite candy bar, or the section of the city where you can find a hooker that isn't a cop. Okay, that's a bad example... But you get the point. I've found that studying the principles of martial arts is a big help. Warriors have to rely on instinct which necessitates acting without thought. Even doing some rudimentary exercises (especially when accompanied by visualization) will increase your confidence as your body begins to do as you've trained it all on its own. "As above, so below." |

What to do when logic and intuition conflict? For example my logic says that getting my driving license would be a good thing. It would make it easier to get a job, it would make me more independent, more confident maybe, overcoming my fear of driving is a good PD move, etc. And my intuition claims very clearly that driving license is a big NO-NO. No explanation, just NO. I don't understand why. I guess I'll listen to my intuition, but I don't get it. |

@Rose There are *lots* of sources of information of intuitive information—your subconscious mind, your higher self, angles, spirit guides, animal spirit guides, deceased loved ones, spirits with agendas, spirits that drain human energy, gremlins, demons, etc. When you get information or an answer to a question, always ask where it comes from. Ask the "voice" who it is. Ask it if it works for/toward your highest good. If its answer is anything less than an unhesitating "yes," I would get it out of my space and dismiss what it said. The spirits that work toward our highest good are here to help and serve us, not tell us what we should or shouldn't do. They're not some sort of spiritual parent whose role is to give us permission to do what we want. We're here to decide what we want and go after it. They're here to assist us in getting what we want, providing protection as we go after it, and sharing information that assists us in the pursuit of what we want. If you get incomplete information, don't understand the message, or want clarification, ask for it. If the source won't give it, it's not worth listening to. A simple "no" with no explanation sounds to me like the answer of an entity that would like to restrict and disempower you, not one that works for your highest good. If you want to get a drivers license, get a drivers license. If you don't, don't. The role of your guides and angels is to assist you with the "how." |
