| I will say that I have had a reading by phone with Erin in the past, and she is far from being a quack or a fraud. Her reading was spot on. In the near future, I will post further about my very personal reading, but for now, I will need to spend some time with my thoughts. Everything I thought to be true in every aspect of my life is not. I have to readjust my thinking to align with my new truths, and toss away old beliefs that are no longer working for me. I do have a question for "Dr. Erin." Why is it that when I meditate and get messages from my higher self, I get a headache that lasts for a long time. This is so much of a bother to me, that it causes me to refrain from meditating. Does anyone else have this problem? |

| Do you bring your higher self to you or do you go to your higher self? In other words, do you quiet your mind and then start conversing with your higher self or do you imagine yourself going to another location to do the speaking?

| I think you could also claim the reverse, that Doctors are like Psychics. The human mind has as much control over the body as any outside factor. Believing you can get better is just as important (and even more in some cases) as having the right medicine. That's why it is so important for Doctor's to have a good bedside manner, which is another word for using psychic powers to help a patient feel better.

| Gratin, as I suspected. I made this mistake too in the beginning when I first started doing readings. What you want to do is converse outside yourself, otherwise you get a sort of backlash of energy, which, if you're not used to it, will cause a headache. So get yourself into a nice meditative state and then imagine yourself on a beach or in a garden, room or temple, wherever, and then begin conversing with your HS. When you're done, leave the location, which will close the connection down a little. Otherwise, it's like having a raging party going on in your house while you're trying to sleep.

I give up on trying not to "hijack" your blog thread. HAHA I will try what you suggested. I do not want to stop meditating now that I have made contact, due to headaches. I'll let you know how it goes. |

| Erin, Thanks so much for this entry. It really puts everything out there, very simply. I found your blog through a link on Christine Kane's blog. I'm so glad you're here, and blogging! |

| Hey Erin, Thanks for the great post. Sometimes I look back on what I thought about the supernatural a year ago, and then think about what I believe today, and all I can think is, "Wow!" Thank you for putting so much wonder and mystery back into my life.

| Hi Erin. Thanks for your posting. Very thought-provoking. It would be interesting to hear more how you discovered your abilities and what prompted you to begin offering readings. Out of personal interest, I've read a number of real life stories about psychic mediums who have discovered their "abilities" in mid- or later in life and they apparently felt guided to the next step. Initially, they weren't quite sure what they were meant to do with their unusual skills. After all, its not one with a traditional career path. Yet, meeting people at certain times, synchronicity and other reasons helped them get on track. Do you feel on track with your abilities? Over the years, I have discovered and developed dream anlaysis skills which I use to help people understand potential deeper meanings in their real lives. I also had a published newspaper column which invited readers to participate. |

| Hi Erin, this was a really funny, informative post. I especially liked the line, "Psychics are not mind readers!" :-) The section on frauds was interesting. In the 19th century, there was a lot more of a problem with medical quackery than there is now. I think the medical community managed to raise the standards in the industry through certificates and degrees from medical schools and industry associations. Anyone can check up on the credentials of a doctor by going to the AMA, for example. Are there similar organizations for psychics? That is, a community of psychics that can vouch for its members? If so, have you considered joining one? Are there reputable schools for psychics? Should there be? Am I asking too many questions? :-) Jeff |

| I've heard of a school in England that reminds me of Hogwart's actually. The name is escaping my brain at the moment. But I would love to go there and train. They have classes in mediumship, psychometry, divination, astrology, the whole nine yards. You have to qualify in order to get in. Psychics can be licensed, but that is only a background criminal check. As far as I am aware there is no organization that certifies psychics. Well wait, I think you can get a degree in metaphysics and things like that, but I don't know about psychics.

| Nice post. Very informative. I've never looked at psychics in that light before. Comparing them to doctors kind of gives psychics a little more structure. They all have their specialties, they all make due with the gifts they have. Interesting. |

| Erin is absolutely right in avoiding any psychic hot lines. I was going through some personal issues last year and was on a Californian based psychic hot line last year and most of those psychics were hardly professional. They told, or made up, a lot of things that got me into an emotional unbalance just to keep me on the line. As a result, I spent a substantial amount of money trying to get confirmations from one psychic to another. They only post good testimonials so the cutomers don't get a fair view on the quality of the psychics. I complained eventually but they said I accused them and wouldn't do anything. So, BE WARNED. |
