Im pretty sure this was more than a dream

A couple of weeks ago, I awoke in a dream and was paralysed, whenever I tried to move my entire body would buzz, this included inside my head when I tried to think. The feeling spread through me kind of like pins and needles but not as painful. The reason I believe this to be something more than a dream is because I have never experienced so much feeling and awareness in a dream before. It was incredibly vivid.

Anyway I was just hoping for some feedback, if anyone had any ideas about it.

Astral separation. Read my blog entries on astral projection:

From a straight dreaming perspective (:D), you might want to look at how in your waking life you are feeling paralyzed or constrained. What are you "on pins and needles" about? In what are would you like to have more movement?

Plus, of course, it means you like me, don't forget.

Looks to me as though you had sleep paralysis, but usually I have it before going to sleep.

What's the difference between astral separation and astral projection?

Erin Pavlina 04-19-2009 02:17 PM

Astral separation can occur but you stay in your body. Like opening the peanut shell but not removing the peanut. Peanut stays nestled in the shell.

Astral projection occurs when you actually lift up out of your body and go traveling. I.e. removing the peanut from the shell.

Second opinion

Yes, that is the vibrational stage of astral projection. It's funny, I just did that this morning! The first time which it happens can be frightening but if you resist it too much you may not be able to get it back. I have been practicing this since I was seventeen, that's 16 years now. It is one of the most rewarding experiences you can possibly have. I have not read the mentioned post on astral projection but I can tell you what I have done which really works. Once you feel the vibration concentrate on where it is the strongest until it fills your entire body. It usually starts for me around the area of the seventh chakra (that's the head) but I have heard that it is different for most people. Once the vibration becomes strong enough you can kind of 'peel' yourself out of your body. At first, it will feel like you can't move but that is because your consciousness is no longer directed at your physical body. Therefore, trying to move your physical body is impossible. That is why you focus on the vibration until it fills your body. Anyway, you are very fortunate. Not many people are gifted to have such a thing come upon them without a lot of work. Just keep working at it and pretty soon you will be having a blast with it. Good luck. -Jon Alan

This exact thing has happened to me many times. felt like being electrified.
Buzz is a good description.
Its special and scary, and I never knew what it was.
It happens especially if I read highly spritual texts for some reason.
I never thought these texts had any power (I hardly understand them) until this happened everytime I read them, and never happened before that.

Sometimes when this happens it also sets off electronic devices, So I started to unplug the strereo before going to sleep...
Whenever I tried to describe this with friends they had no idea what I was on about (and I told quite a few people)
So its great that you shared this -thanks!

Do some research on the astral body and the kundalini force? I wrote a book* recently which has information about this but you can research on Internet and find information.
When your dream body fails to synchronize into your physical sleeping body, the physical body seems paralyzed. Usually this paralysis only last for a few minutes, and then you find that you can again wake as if you are the physical body with the usual control of its movements
Needles are felt, or there is electric sensation or sound sensations if the kundalini energy, the life force in the gross body is aroused.
The experience is vivid because you are in an objective state in reference to the gross body where you usually would get up in it and now you are unable to do so. The dream ended and so you are no longer synchronized over into the dream body, so in a way you are in a state of limbo between the physical reality and the astral one. That gives you the objectivity but it is uncomfortable because you are unable to do what you would do by instinct in such situations, which is to wake up the gross body and be your usual self in it
