Are there different types of spirit guides? Hi everybody, I've always been curious about spirit guides since discovering Erin's blog, and her site always intrigued me because I've always been curious about higher spiritualness, but never particularly experienced anything abnormal (like say, seeing ghosts, or having to trust my intuition). But I've been trying to be more open minded that there is something out there, and that I *think* I've been talking to my guides for quite a while without knowing it. I've always assumed it was just my imagination, but last night I started writing down what they were saying. It seems that I have several guides, four of which are main ones. And they all have names, but...is it normal if they each have a specific role to play? Like I have Giles, who sounds like John Cleese, and he tells me he's an "acting guide". He says I should be an actress eventhough I don't think I could ever be one considering that I'm more interested in fashion writing and being a journalist than acting. He's pretty insistent I should take courses, but I've had some brief "acting" stints, and didn't think I was very good at it. I also have another guide, his name is Adam, and he likes sex. It's nothing bad really, but I find he's a very sexual guide, and am not quite sure how that is supposed to help me in my path. Then there's M--, and she loves music, art, dance. She doesn't really say too much about life plans, but when she does pipe up, she's really excited like a teenage groupie. The last one is Yan, who I find is my comfort guide. He helps me and encourages me, but am never quite sure if I'm fooling myself into thinking something I can't see, touch or "hear" is actually there or part of my imagination. Is this normal? Am I imagining things? I've read the blogs and forum threads, but all of your guides seem to just help you along your path. But mine are very specific. Last night they were all kinda fighting over on who gets to talk to me first while I was typing stuff down. Please help! I'd like to believe they exist, without thinking I'm crazy.. lol. |
Even though I am open to the existence of spirit guides it's not something I feel that I need to explore. But because I have a bookstore and have explored quite a bit in that area I'd recommend that you read Sonia Choquette's books. You'll have lots there about spirit guides (and their different types). Check Hay House. |
yes it sounds like typical guide behavior except that usually guides don't tell us what to do but rather point out what paths to take that would lead to our happiness. In other words, sure they'll tell us, "Try acting" but they shouldn't be insistent or withhold their guidance if you don't. |
That's fairly typical of my experiences as well. The book I would recommend reading is "Ask Your Guides" by Sonia Choquette. She explains a lot of the spirit guides in a general enough fashion that is easy to understand. I too have plenty of spirit guides - three singular and one group to my knowledge:

I agree that currently there are two who are more prominent than the others. I was able to identify 2 more, one seems to just pepper me with "you go girl" vibes, while the other is like this big black giant entity. He looks scary, but not enough to fear, I don't know what he's supposed to be. His name is "War"...am not sure if I should be worried about a name like that, lol. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll probably pass by my book store and look her up :) |

I have a feeling that the first batch of entities I am with are there for my entire life, while the second batch are time-shared with others. I'm fine with that. |
