I have accidentally discovered this website: A Personal Story of Kundalini awakening - Teachers I read it till the 5th chapter and it scared me so much! does that really happen? And if I continue meditating, would Kundalini awaken in me too? From what I understand this is some kind of spiritual energy that awakens in you and goes up through chakras till it goes off the top chakra. |

SimonaRich, I have not read the article you've linked to but I did want to allay your fears. Everything that I've learned about Kundalini tells me that if you are doing simple meditation (focusing on the breath or the "gap," stilling the babble of the ego, etc.), the Kundalini energy may slowly "awaken" and unfold in a person as the person is able to handle it. It's a very natural process (like growing hair) that need not be disruptive in any way. However, I have heard my share of "scary" stories of people trying to awaken their Kundalini energy without guidance, on their own or before they are ready for it and I have chosen not to follow that path for myself, for what that's worth. |

But the thing is, I love meditating. So I just meditate with my eyes opened. Still works. Yesterday before sleep I did not get any pressure in my head or anything like that, so I guess stopping this for a bit will put that Kundalini to sleep

Thanks for the link. I believe if we are careful, we can control this unfolding. The website AYP Home Page - Free Lessons in Meditation, Pranayama, Kundalini, Tantra talks a lot about self-pacing, going at a comfortable steady rate, etc (there is a lot of heavy information there, so self-pacing is essential). I personally have experienced overdoing it, and I backed off drastically. There are no problems now, and I have a better sense of my limits (what a comfortable pace of opening is for me). |

YouTube - How to meditate Check out this link and then check out for part 2 of 5 till the end. This video convinced me that nothing scary will happen if you meditate regurarly. It will happen naturally. So that reassured me that nothing will go wrong if I keep meditating but not try to consciously go beyond what I am ready to see.

I have never heard of the kundalini awakening this is my first time hearing about this, but it is very informative. Also, I do meditate but I do not do it regularly, eventually it will take place- I usually do it when I become overwhelmed with the thoughts that are running through my mind.
